I am relly interested improve how I use the compressors.
Which courses or Youtube Tutorials, or anything would you recommend to me?
I am working with Puremix tutorials, but I am specially interested in listening (talking about compressors), in order to choose the better option.

I will refer to this as usual: https://hermetechmastering.com/compressors.html
Basically using drastic values to hear them first, then backing down to proper level.

Seconded - this is a great way of hearing what the attack and release times are actually doing to your sound.legendCNCD wrote: Thu Jan 26, 2023 12:31 pm I will refer to this as usual: https://hermetechmastering.com/compressors.html

The article is referring to mix bus compression in mastering - but just ignore that part. The principles explained apply to anything. Just practice on a drum loop, for example.Aceituna wrote: Thu Jan 26, 2023 3:12 pm By the way, do you know any site where would be possible to get unmastered songs in the article referred genres?
Great article.
Thanks again.

I got a nice technique for you! Get a drum loop without the kick(because the kick is always the first to hit the compressor) and start compressing with medium attack e a relative slow release, you going to hear that the compressor really pulls back a transient and makes it more round!
