Not buying if that's the case, I already have plenty of impulses I'm happy with, though it's still a good price for that. If it's algorithmic reverb, WTF does it need 6 GB of space? Something doesn't stack up...
I can only find about 200 megs worth of total drive space for the LX. Still looking but it didn't seem like 6 gigs was being downloaded and installed for the demo, perhaps there is more for the full version. I don't see any samples for the LX but there are some for their Rev Plate 140.

It says 1GB space required for the Apple version. I wouldn't read into those specs too much. The Mac installer is 340MB, BTW, so I doubt they are packing 5GB of impulse files that efficiently! ;)

(It's algorithmic, anyway.)

Did you take a moment to look at any of the other Arturia plugins blurbs to compare? They all seem to say 6GB.

This plugin takes around 200 MB in total (including graphics).

Made a couple of audio examples on Gearspace.

IMHO this is an _extremely_ impressive reverb plugin. Definitely one of the best available, no matter what the cost.

Why would I look at their other plugins? Still, good to know it's algorithmic and doesn't need GBs. Arturia might want to check their blurb, because that kind of slackness can lose them business. That there very nearly made me simply skip past and ignore it. 6GB disk space requirement is a huge red flag, especially for laptop use. If they state that for all plugins...someone in sales needs their arse kicking.

As is, I will properly demo it now. Very good initial impressions sonically, and $69 seems fair price that I'll happily pay. CPU use might sway me...I'll see when I demo. I'd be using it as a send anyway, so prolly not an issue.

Anybody knows where does it install the manual?

To compare blurbs to see if it was a generic catch-all or if it was unique to this plugin. It was the first thing I thought of doing when you posed your question.

That looks to be a generic catch-all for the entirety of the plugin lineup. Even the MS-20 and JUN-6V instruments say the same thing. It's just a template or copy/paste.

Not sure. If you don't find it you can just download it off their website: https://downloads.arturia.net/products/ ... 0_0_EN.pdf

Thx, I did

Probably the greatest sounding software verb I've ever heard. Bought right away.

Thanks for the demo example - bit of a too-long tail but good for demonstration of the smoothness and sounds great!

Arturia really know their stuff. I fear the CPU may be prohibitive but will demo it and see for myself. I love the different quality settings in UVI Plate - wonder if Arturia should implement something similar.

But at the end of the day, if it just requires a lot more CPU to do its thing, then that is the price of quality I guess - and we can choose to pay it or not.

Yeah I'm a bit miffed by the CPU usage. I mean the reverb isn't exactly "dense" like the UVI Plate. Then again, I never use UVI Plate at any other setting than "insane" and that one really does eat an insane amount of CPU at that setting.

Anyhow, if you have any kind of loyalty price for this or even at full introductory price, it's very hard to beat Arturias new offering. It's absolutely amazing in my opinion.

Anyone put it head to head against Relab LX480 yet?

Yes, they model different Lexicon units, but I'm curious about what people's thoughts are comparing the overall sound quality of the two, since several people have said Rev LX-224 is the best sounding software reverb they've ever heard.

Does this release seem to fix the painfully long load times for Arturia plugins on Windows for anyone else? Note: not everyone on Windows experienced this issue. But I did. And it seems much better with the latest updates.

Oh, and the reverb is great too!

I trust your opinion so "absolutely amazing" has me very interested. I own the FX Collection 2 so will definitely demo this or at least check out more videos and decide.

Regarding UVI Plate - I hear a huge difference in sound between the different quality settings, so it seems to be affecting even things like the number of reflections etc. It makes me wonder if most reverbs out there for the last few decades are essentially like "Eco" mode on UVI Plate - the best bang for buck to keep the CPU/latency down - in other words a compromise.

Because you sometimes hear developers mention things like... "oh our modelling could be more accurate, but it would eat your CPU for breakfast and we needed to keep CPU down, so we didn't persue that direction."

Saturators with no oversampling follow that philosphy too, even though the developers say they can better model tube saturation using ALL of your CPU. Why not just add it as an offline setting and let the user eff with it? I digress...

Yet UVI drop in an 'Insane' quality mode in a reverb and say... hey... if your CPU allows it, go for it. And I'm so glad they did.

For me personally I work in one of the High settings and then switch the Insane for rendering. Love it.

Excuse the off-topic talk of UVI Plate. I'll check this out and report back. Arturia are the answer to the question "if you had to produce, mix and master a song using plugins from only ONE company, what company would it be?". :D
