I would argue that you could get 90% of the analog warmth and character while having a much more flexible synth for the price by choosing a hybrid such as:

For me, most of what matters comes down to a lot of details but also U/I. I personally wouldn't bother with a Tetra. There's not enough in the architecture to make up for the lack of interface.

Pretty limiting at 35cm, narrows it down only to modules. I'd say Korg Minilogue XD gives one of the best range & features & character (most important) but even the desktop must be bigger than 35cm. Size really cuts down the usability factor. Something that small de facto means menu-diving and cramped or no knobbage...which is one of the biggest appeals of hw imo. At that size, sw is easier to use unless it has an editor. Not sure any analogue poly at that size makes me interested though Dreadbox def have great sounding filters imo. Not sure if Dreadbox have editors?

Both the Korg minilogue XD module and keyboard are the same width, 50 centimeters.

Here is the manual for the Dreadbox Nymphes on version 2.0, and here is a video showcasing how to control and program it.

Thanks for all of the answers and honestly, I didn't know that I'd have this many options...
For the size, I think I am willing to get a bigger one because I didn't quite like the ones you have mentioned, and I actually prefer to have keys on the synth itself. (not pads or buttons, actual keys)

Right. Minilogue XD then. It has incredibly characterful filters (very similar to the MS20 filters - best of all time IMO), shitloads of features and a reasonable amount of modulation etc for the price point. The sequencer can be used as extra modulation and Korg sequencers on their synths are great to use.

Alternatives (and still not full-size monsters) at or lower priced would be;
Behringer Deepmind. Lots of voices, lots of options, a fair bit of menu-diving but not burdensome, great FX, but tending a little towards vanilla sound. Having said that, it's based on the old Roland sound, which was and is still very popular. It can be made to make some good analogue strong sounds. There was a thread a while ago here where the OP made some 303-ish type riff on several different synths and it quite surprised me how good the Deepmind was at it - very 101/202-ish IMO, which were both classics.

Behringer Monopoly. It has only 4 oscillators, but very usable as a poly - you can't stack oscillators for each voice like the Minilogues though, so not what you'd maybe call a true poly. Junos etc only had 6 and they were hugely popular. And it's exceptionally good at strong mono sounds when stacking the oscillators with a strong crossmod/sync for aggro sounds. Its arp is the standout - I've never come across anything like it TBH.

Behringer PolyD Moog thingy. A bit love it or hate it as some (me included) don't really like Moog filter sound, but it's another capable 4 oscillator usable as a poly.

You can probably pick up a Korg straight Minilogue original version (not the XD) for good prices well under $1k and it too is very capable with the same strong filters, just not the extra digital voice and a few less bells and whistles. Last time I looked you could almost get a Minilogue for 1/2 the price of the XD but it has way over half the feature set. Cheap as chips.

Yeah, the Minilogue XD is a great 4-voice analog for not much money and still fairly compact in size. The only potential issue might be the mini keys, but if you're OK with that, I'd definitely give it a lot of consideration. The Korg Prologue 8-voice model is just above $1K, but you could probably find a secondhand one for under that. And, yeah, the aforementioned Behringer Deepmind is a great choice at well under $1K.

I was keen towards Minilogue XD but when I looked at the price of Behringer Deepmind 6 for 68% discount in a local store. Normal price is about $1500 with taxes and with discount it is $670. Is it a good deal or non-discounted price is too high to begin with?

That is the normal price, about $599.

If you can swing the Prologue or Minilogue, that would be the one to get, IMO. Try to find a effect free demo of the Deepmind and see if you really like it. I personally had the Deepmind 12 and I felt that without effects it wasn't that great sounding. I always think the Prologue/Minilogue demos sound great. What you lack in modulation abilities, you make up for in the user configurable digital oscillator. That really extends the sonic range.

I wouldn't get too caught up on 'sale' prices. Makers have been known to raise their prices so that they can have a 'sale' later. I used to want a Deepmind... before I got a real analog synthesizer.
The Minilog XD would be a great first synth.

Not polyphonic iirc. Paraphonic I think. :?
Lovely synth none the less.

Yes, the Korg Minilogue XD is a decent sounding synth for as cheap as it is.
