Not on my 'desert island' music list.

I did not ;)

Although I'm not a huge fan Brian Adams gets a honourable mention from me.
So do

Victuria Burnett aka Veela
Shannon Hemmett aka Leathers
Jennifer Parkin aka Ayria

Wasn't aware that FLA and Skinny Puppy were Canadians as well.
First band I took notice of them being from Canada were SAGA, though...

It should be noted that there are a TON of Canadian artist that are BIG in Canada and non-existent elsewhere (despite being excellent).

It would be impossible to list them all.

Martha and the Muffins
Daniel Lanois
deadmau5
Chilliwack
April wine
Drake
Nelly Furtado
Paul Shaffer
Anne Murray

Barenaked Ladies
David Foster
Rufus Wainwright
Loreena McKennitt
Shania Twain
Arcade Fire
The Tragically Hip
Michael Bublé
Corey Hart
Lara Fabian
Régine Chassagne

The list goes on......

But Gordon, one of a kind.....

I remember I was in Toronto doing some recording. I wasn't well most of the 6 weeks I was there. There were a few trips to emergency. I remember one time, I was quite punky, and had severely sore ribs from coughing. This came on my friend's car's radio. I had to lol, even though it hurt.

Even if all they had was "Underwhelmed" they'd still be worth the mention.
Even if the piano player can't play, keep the party going.

They still continue to pound out killer albums and songs! Seriously, I'm begging Canada on behalf of all 50 States, if we give you Bieber and Celine back, can you send us more bands like Sloan, PLEASE?!

I ain't got nothin' to hide
My mind is an endless wire
I got both feet on the ground
I ain't got no one for hire
I ain't got a thing to show
My lives have all expired
So don't go foolin' around
An' set my wheels afire
Down in the dark of a burnt out soul
There's a few good second hand dreams
Deep in the dark of a heavenly night with you
Down in the black of a bottomless hole
There's a few good second hand scenes
Deep in the dark of a heavenly blue
Where the sea runs green
I ain't got nothin' to give
My life is an endless climb
My love's a paperback dream
I don't have nothin' but time
I ain't got a thing to show
I don't know my own name
So don't go foolin' around
An' set my wheels aflame
Down in the dark of a beat out soul
There's a few good second hand dreams
Deep in the dark of a heavenly night with you
Down in the black of a bottomless hole
There's a few good second hand scenes
Deep in the dark of a heavenly blue
Where the sea runs green

I don't think it's fair to someone of his accomplishments that his RIP thread is turning into a discussion of how Canadian artists don't get respect. But then again, when someone like Biz Markie died, it seemed like everyone was putting up tributes to him. Even Jeff Tweedy posted his cover of "Just a Friend".

I haven't seen many tributes from musicians outside Canada. You would think that the folk/country/americana community might want to show appreciation for one of its members.

I guess though that this just goes to illustrate the point that artists from the Great White North are underappreciated.
