At that price point they are hard to beat. If your budget is more substantial than $200 USD, let me know how much more and I can provide suggestions for you.Coldmajki wrote: Fri Jun 09, 2023 6:29 pm Hey yall! Since my post i went to a local store and tried the 5 vs a mackies mr524 and an adam audio t5v and first i was overwhelmed cuz both of them sounded better then the presonus but the mackie got 1 year warranty and more expensive while the adam has 5 years warranty but the high end are too hyped and also more expensive. I did that before but after the store i spent my day on youtube and was like they all sounded good tho and there always be better and i think you can make all three of them work for you if you get to know them so i was like f**k it im going with the 5xt cuz i kinda sympathise with it more than the rest and also it got more settings on the unit (high, mid and low cut also acoustic correction depending on the setup but the others got that one too) i didnt order them yet cuz but i probably do that today. Just out of curiosity if i can spare lets say 100$ more what would you suggest? Or if money wasnt problem but still in this rangeFranklyFlawless wrote: Mon Jun 12, 2023 3:06 amAt that price point they are hard to beat. Most of the intense competition starts at $400 USD, and they are very few options below that. At $300 USD, the PreSonus Eris E8 XT (B-stock) is a reasonable upgrade.Coldmajki wrote: Mon Jun 12, 2023 9:43 am Just out of curiosity if i can spare lets say 100$ more what would you suggest? The Eris Monitors are ok, not the best, but fine for the money. Kali is probably the only alternative I might consider beyond spending a ton on high-end monitors. Though I hear that they can be a crapshoot quality wise. Same with Presonus, tho probably not as much. The output of my Eris 5s are quite a bit off from ea other, they can be matched but only at extremes, e.g. one as loud as it can go the other as quite.
I mostly bought the presonus monitors since they were cheap and in stock at the only local music store available to me in Hawaii. They are very reliable tho, never had a problem leaving them on for years, tho their vinyl coating is starting to peel after 10-12 yrs.

I have some Event 20/20p from the late 90s . They are ok . The press made a big deal about them when the came out . One is passive and the other has the amp attached to the back of it that powers the passive one . I like to listen through headphones too ..

i use eris e5 and have to say that for the money, they are phenomenal.
If i have to be honest i didn't expect something really pro, more like 'for such money - such sound':):):)
Was very nice surprised how clean and neutral the sound is ,was listening for months any kind of video demos and comparisons and that was most boring and affordable pair of monitors i heard,so decide to buy them,if doesn't worth at least it's not such a big deal spending 215 euro,BUT...
They do the job.
In video comparison between 5 and 5xt i watch somewhere seems that 5xt treble is bit hyped and e5 is bit weak in high section, but decide to take e5 cause prefer to pump little bit highs instead opposite.
The bass of e5 is really deep and nice, middle is clean and neutral, the only think i found not so convincing after months pleasure listening and working with them is that treble spectrum doesnt have strong definition cause the tweeter is small.
It is not noticeable in the beginning ,after really long time listening of same track on different speakers a just wish highs to be little bit stronger and in front 'in your face' than it is,but for the money can't find more neutral monitors imho.

Forgot to say that my first idea was to buy 8'' but for small room this is huge mistake imho.
Big speakers have small freq range and all you can hear is boom boom, but entire sensitive 2khz - 12khz spectrum rely on small tweeter.
