Hi everyone
As per the subject title I am on the hunt for CamelCrusher, a popular freeware VST effect plugin that was abandoned in 2015 when its manufacturer, Camel Audio, was acquired by Apple.
A website called audiopluginsforfree.com hosts a download for CamelCrusher but the .exe files produce some malicious detection hits when I submit them to VirusTotal, as such I am looking elsewhere for the plugin.
Does anybody here have an original install of the plugin? If so would it be possible for you to share it with me? If this is against the rules here I apologize.
For those with a legit copy of CC, this would likely have been downloaded via an email link. I say this because when I visit the Camel Audio website via Wayback Machine it asks for an email address in order to receive a download link for CamelCrusher.
Thanks in advance for any help with this request.

I found 32bit one on my hard drive, interesting that it says it`s version is 1.30 while ^^^64bit version says 1.01. Anyway here: CamelCrusherWin_v1_30.

I agree. E.g., my computer doesn't like any of the ToneBoosters installers, though they're perfectly safe. I wouldn't be utterly concerned but for safety's sake, I can attest that I've been using that installer I linked above for many years now and I have had zero problems.

Hi Escalona, thanks for posting the link. If it's not too much hassle could you throw the .exe into VT and let me know the results? I suspect that you have the same installer that I previously submitted.escalona wrote: Tue Jul 04, 2023 5:25 pm I agree. Do you know where you downloaded it from originally?

Unfortunately I've no idea if it's a false positive or not, I don't have the knowledge to be sure either way.Dogbert wrote: Tue Jul 04, 2023 5:01 pm False positives perhaps?
Some antivirus don't like certain installers, specially if they are old.

i just tried it, it works, i remember the exe gave me some red flags on virustotal, so i unpacked the installer and ripped of only the necessary ingredients, after that i made a scan on the dll file and it was clean as a whistle
i think the red flag was for the uninstall exe file, but i got rid of that so it is all good now
