Where'd you get the option for USD? I only see Euro.jdoo wrote: Tue Nov 21, 2023 3:14 pm I had picked up Largo on sale a couple of years ago. I spent a weekend trying to use it, but never really got anything useful out of it. Like a moth being drawn to flame.. I am curious about the 2.0 upgrade now. The upgrade code is blackweeks2023 for the curious. That brings the 2.0 price to $23.99. Still on the fence about it, as the first version never really stuck. For $24 though...

I ended up relenting to the "Black Weeks" sale. Was ~$27 US for the upgrade. There is a review on SynthAnatomy -> https://synthanatomy.com/2023/10/waldor ... eover.html
Aside from the GUI, theyve added three formant filter types .. you can morph thru via cutoff knob. That's something new
Along with native support for Apple Silicon, which I needed.. Im not comparing it to a modern wavetable synth though. It's got a handful of usable (for my tastes) timbres.. so I grabbed it. It was worth the price of cheap dinner for me.

zerocrossing wrote: Tue Nov 21, 2023 3:28 pmAt this point, it’s sort of like a “vintage plugin,” even with the new facelift. If you’re going to compare it to modern wavetable synths, you might not like the more lo-fi sound, but I personally have always liked it. That said, I don’t really feel like giving them a dime for this update. Other companies give updates like this away for free to paying customers. Most other developers would consider this a .5 update at best.jdoo wrote: Tue Nov 21, 2023 3:14 pm I had picked up Largo on sale a couple of years ago. Well that's annoying, so all DAW projects would have to be manually updated to the newer version...

Do you mean Largo 2, or Waldorf in general? Because Largo 2 is vst3.

Drives me crazy when devs do that. Applied Acoustics does it every damn time and I have to manually replace dozens of channels/tracks.EvilDragon wrote: Thu Nov 23, 2023 12:12 amWell that's annoying, so all DAW projects would have to be manually updated to the newer version...

But why do you need to update the old projects if they are using the old one? Just keep the old one and install the new one beside it.EvilDragon wrote: Thu Nov 23, 2023 12:12 amWell that's annoying, so all DAW projects would have to be manually updated to the newer version...
For the current project I don't think it is so annoying to replace the old one with the new one! How many tracks do you have that use the old one in the current project?
Using: Cubase Pro 15, Reason 13, Tascam US-4x4HR, MODX6, DM12D, LaunchKey 49, Yamaha guitar(Pacifica 612v) and bass (BB234) and some virtual instruments and synths.
