Do you use the "free" or paid version? I get mine from the user area. There were issues with cached older version on their download servers before, and sometimes they had to fix that manually.Yeager wrote: Tue Dec 19, 2023 9:21 amThe one I'm downloading now (windows) is from 30 November, so something is not right.......kylie wrote: Tue Dec 19, 2023 1:33 amThe version I just downloaded is from ~7:30 pm, so packaged between the error report and the announcement of the fix. I would say after a minute testing that the menu does not pop up anywhere but close to the cursor.Yeager wrote: Mon Dec 18, 2023 11:29 pm When can we download it, the file is still from december 18 as we speak (windows).

As of now : December 20 2023 the "free" windows file is updated, the pop-up works, but the Step is still wrong. Bug : after closing the GUI and reopening the step light is still on (correct) and the tuner is stepping per semitone (correct) but the readout has some values after the comma/dot so f.i. -20.3 in stead of the expected -20.0.

Do I understand correctly: the free edition of version 3.x doesn't support oversampling / anti-aliasing, while the free edition of v 2.x has an HQ switch for anti-aliasing / oversampling?

Can anyone answer my question?BackInCheck wrote: Sun Jan 07, 2024 7:49 pm Do I understand correctly: the free edition of version 3.x doesn't support oversampling / anti-aliasing, while the free edition of v 2.x has an HQ switch for anti-aliasing / oversampling?

No, AKAIK and see, the V3 has an option/switch for OS but it has to be activated by buying, and V2 has no OS switch at all.BackInCheck wrote: Sun Jan 14, 2024 5:06 pmCan anyone answer my question?BackInCheck wrote: Sun Jan 07, 2024 7:49 pm Do I understand correctly: the free edition of version 3.x doesn't support oversampling / anti-aliasing, while the free edition of v 2.x has an HQ switch for anti-aliasing / oversampling?

v2 had a HQ switch, which afaik refers to oversampling (though you cannot switch between various degrees of oversampling). So it seems that in v3 it's not possible at all to activate oversampling / HQ for the user of the free version. So basically v3 has removed a crucial part of the free feature set?Yeager wrote: Sun Jan 14, 2024 6:40 pmNo, AKAIK and see, the V3 has an option/switch for OS but it has to be activated by buying, and V2 has no OS switch at all.BackInCheck wrote: Sun Jan 14, 2024 5:06 pmCan anyone answer my question?BackInCheck wrote: Sun Jan 07, 2024 7:49 pm Do I understand correctly: the free edition of version 3.x doesn't support oversampling / anti-aliasing, while the free edition of v 2.x has an HQ switch for anti-aliasing / oversampling?

Ah the HQ in the filtersection, the parameter is called Filter_Warm, was/is that the oversampling ? if so then it's no longer available in V3 (for free).BackInCheck wrote: Sun Jan 14, 2024 6:48 pmv2 had a HQ switch, which afaik refers to oversampling (though you cannot switch between various degrees of oversampling). Hello Everyone,
I wanted to share that I've recently built my fork of OB-Xd (OB-Xd - GREC) for Windows as both a stand-alone application and a VST3 plugin. Here's a quick demo of OB-Xd-GREC as a VST3 in Reaper running on Windows 11:
Please note that OB-Xd-GREC fully meets the Free Software Foundation’s definition of "Free Software." Additionally, here are a few important points:
1. I am working on providing compiled Linux and Windows releases for both the stand-alone and VST3 versions on the OB-Xd-GREC GitHub page. I’ll announce when those binaries and VSTs are available.
2. OB-Xd-GREC will always be free (as in Gratis—no cost) and free (as in Libre—software freedom).
3. As the developer and maintainer of OB-Xd-GREC, I WILL NEVER impose any restrictions on the end-users of OB-Xd-GREC. Users are free to use OB-Xd-GREC to create music for both commercial and non-commercial purposes, with absolutely NO RESTRICTIONS... even if you make awful music like I do.

god bless ya sir - maybe grab the source for OPL and Schroeder Reverb too and apply your [correct] FSF definitions and let someone continue to have a strop

Hmm, OPL. Adlib sound emulator. Might be a good thing for making Early Sound Blaster music in the style of Sierra Online Games. I just forked it on Github so that I can work with it in the future (probably distant future).mcbpete wrote: Mon Feb 24, 2025 5:49 pm god bless ya sir - maybe grab the source for OPL and Schroeder Reverb too and apply your [correct] FSF definitions and let someone continue to have a strop![]()
Please note that my primary focus is on OB-Xd-GREC right now. I want to make sure that working VST3s for Windows and for Linux as well as stand-alone binaries are available for Linux and Windows users.

RE: obxd (the disco dsp version, which I assume is the topic), it is now free unless you want to use it in music you want to receive payment for in some fashion. Is that correct? Moreover, how on earth are they hoping to police that?

Originally this was a free plugin but I suspect the original owners sold this to a company or something.
The crippled version is still useful but they are doing what they can to make it a commercial product.
I think it was a commercial product for awhile even in version 2 where people had an option to purchase but since the free version was too similar must have not got many sales. (or maybe their IOS app was commercial).
Nonetheless it is commercial now but the demo version is still pretty powerful.
Honestly it would be cool if more companies had similar models.
