I've had the pleasure of playing the Ion in a shop and then trying out the Korg ms2000 next to it.
The Ion is a lot warmer and more analogue sounding.
If I had the room in my studio, I would get 3 Ions!!!
MS2000, Ion or KS5 ?

Thanks for replying !
I have been to the store too and quite frankly, I am very tempted by the MS2000 due to its fun factor.
Polyphony isnt a big deal because huge pads have never taken me anywhere.
I have also investigated the old Korg Mono/poly and felt it resembled very much the MS2K. The monopoly was a very good creative tool I believe.
I can see myself wasting precious hours trying to forge a stupid sound on the Ion while I could be performing monster monophonic gliding riffs the MS2000 in seconds.
My opinion may probably change in the next few days since I wont be giving in until a week or so.

as much as i love the sound of my korg and im sure others feel the same about there ions, only you in the end can make the final decision so i suggest every chance your available from now till then you go in and you play, and wait until you cant leave the store without either one of them, then you know your decision is right
the only problem with this is you fall in love with both and end up buying the other one in a few months anyway
as soon as i have the cash im looking for a microwave xt

Fat chance, buster! I don't even have that shit set-up when I'm recording.endmusik wrote:Bones - you will love it, and I'd hazard a guess that once you start playing with it you will end up using it in recordings
