Sorted it out. My RAR extractor didn't like it for some reason, so I got another which worked fine :)
Would it be nice to let us, your forum comrade, know, which one worked, and which one didn’t?
Keka for extracting any compressed files on Mac.
Good to know, but
This didn’t answer to my question.

RAR Extractor didn't like it. The Unarchiver works fine.

Not entirely sure what was in this update besides a new filter which sounds fantastic btw. Counter intuitively, I find Falcon is more and more becoming what I grab when I want a somewhat basic poly pad, and it's basically all in the filters. Plus stuff like the drunk LFO for adding drift, etc. Odd because I've got V Collection, 3 or 4 Cherry Audio synths, Monark, Tal Stuff. I think it's actually a really fun synth to emulate wonky analogue stuff with- it takes some setting up to add just the right amount of non-linearity but damn it's fun. Feel like a kid playing make believe but it's about making my own analogue polysynth. The filters are just first class, plus the lovely diode clipper, tape delay, Spark Verb. I

Yes, it sounds very good and can do anything from samples to analogue and digital. And there are many great and different filters.

I also sort of like the workflow, especially for complex patches. In the tree explorer you see the overview of the whole structure and every module is clickable. Ongoing modulation is indicated and can always be quickly modified with a simple right click on a knob. Even with simple patches it's very workable.
What's not so good - you can't copy and paste in the tree, or move around or rename with a double click. That's counterintiutive. I hope they will add these (simple) features in the next updates.

Really need a way to get Third Party and user content into the browser (eg Simon Stockhausen's stuff)

Yeah, would be great to have that with VI Labs and others.

I always felt the filters were the weak point with Falcon, until the last few additions which were significant steps up. I still prefer the filters on Dune (for example), though I've not tried the new one (didn't realise it was there).
Every day takes figuring out all over again how to f#ckin’ live.

It's unfair, almost every other synth would lose against Dune in that regard. :) Except maybe Repro, Diva and MassiveX. But UVI's filters are still high quality.
Where Falcon is in the highest tier is unison quality and FX und granular quality. All other functions are maybe not undisputed champions, but in the contender range nevertheless.

Sold it the second time...too slow, unintuitive workflow, kills my creativity, there are better options
Maybe as a synths if you don't like the workflow, but as a Kontakt replacement for large sample libraries there are not really many other options.
Sorry if I'm late to the party, but, this is my question. I hate the workflow of all of the alternatives that I've tried including Akai's MPC and Steinberg's offering. If one is looking for a scripted framework for sample libraries is there really a better choice? The price right now seems as low as I've ever seen it?

For the most part, much of Falcon is sort of basic and maybe not too exciting- the oscillators are nice but nothing "special" (besides the IRCAM stuff). The additive oscillator- serviceable, useful but not much compared to Parsec or Razor. But to me, its the sum of these parts that is amazingly good.

One thing I think Falcon sorely lacks is a good bank of factory samples to throw in any of the sample engines. Pigments, Phase Plant, Synthmaster, Current have great factory samples files- Falcon basically doesn't. It does have heaps of wavetables though... Of course, I've got many gb of my own samples but I don't always want to wade through my hard drive to find them. And when it comes to factory samples, I often feel that those included with synths have been curated particularly because they're versatile and work well with the software in question.

You can remove the db but you will lose all your favorite
Please add the option to reindex our sound banks. I deleted the libraries that didn't have sound previews like e.g. World Suite 1, Synth Anthology 2 & 3 etc, but now I keep seeing them with big logo's while they're not installed anymore, this is a highly needed option!

Or... make sound previews for ALL of your libraries including the older ones since they're already tagged (at least the ones I mentioned), the older ones just miss sound previews.

Thanks and fingers crossed we get some love for the long standing users who still rock those libraries!

Version 3.1.1 will feature an option to clean the database.

Regarding previews for older soundbank, we did most of them except SA 2, 3 and WS1.
WS1 is quite old and SA have looots of patchrs so it increased the size of tag library significantly

So, am I correct it is not possible to tag your own created presets and instruments?

You can reset database by deleting FalconV2.db file from "~/Library/Falcon" folder on Mac, but you will lose Favorites List in your browser.
