Is there anything more intimidating than a new empty project?

How to do this, that and the other. Share, learn, teach. How did X do that? How can I sound like Y?

But the actual pitch to MIDI stuff doesn't seem to be at that level yet.
I do this successfully all the time with voice memos on my phone which I run through Melodyne to produce MIDI.

I was absent for a decade or so but I kind of got back in the habit when we decided to ditch Orion and I had to find a new DAW. And this place is a filthy habit.

Surely an unopened DAW is more intimidating? Once it's open you're ready to create something.

I think it's quite important not to put too much pressure on an idea or starting something. Not everything is going to work first time, and also maybe the 7th or 8th time am idea is reopened, is the spark that brings it to life.

Somewhat same with me. After Orion I moved to Reaper. Have been using that for a decade, and I was mostly active on their forum during that period. I did come here sporadically during that time, tough.

I bought Reason 11 suite, about four years ago (during the Covid lockdowns), to run it on a laptop besides Reaper on my studio machine. But soon discovered I had a lot more fun (and actual tracks) with Reason, so I ditched Reaper completely. At the same time, I started posting on ReasonTalk, but that place was the worst DAW-forum I ever frequented, so I left.

An empty beer glass is more intimidating than an empty project.
Just sayin'...

I get more intimidated by my incompleted tunes backlogue rather than the empty DAW.
I got a few completed tunes, but too many that aren't done and I can't figure out how to improve/finish them.
