1.9 will hopefully be ready by Easter. Almost like .. an easter egg ..
Aside from MSEG there will be two new effect slots. One called Nano Cloud.

Wow. I was hoping something are cooking. Please, don’t abandon this synth. It is actually sounds good and has probably the most exciting effects.

And, please, strongly consider to add drag&drop everywhere where it is possible.Cheers!

Hoping for some upbeat and creative conversations around the release

Excellent! This is all I've wanted just a little proof of life communication once in awhile. Looking forward to the new version and features. :tu:

I called up Rapid yesterday and it really is a fantastic synth. Certainly among my personal favorites and highly underrated in my opinion.

I think some people classify it as a "one finger rompler" but Rapid is so much much more than that. Sure, it's fun to make those kind of one finger patches but Rapid can make incredibly awesome sounds of all types. Deep layered analog style sounds, ambient, cinematic, trance gates, etc. All and more are possible with Rapid at a very reasonable CPU demand.

Rapid has a wonderful high quality core sound and is extremely feature rich. Two factors that are most important to me...... :)

There is an effect and re-effects Nexus 5 called Nano particles, I'd imagine that that's being transferred over in some fashion into rapid, which is going to be an amazing amazing thing! And yes, it's granular effects and a lot more than that actually with the core is granular

I really dont see fascination with playing whole song just by pressing one key on a synth. You can just play whole song in a daw or just play mp3 or wave file. Its just pointless and quite useless. Sorry. Very cool but very useless in real world. Sorry almost, maybe 1 in 100 might use that.

Post

One finger presets are probably most useful to showcase what a synth can do.

One finger presets are fun to make and play (you can trigger different keys of course). I've made one finger patches, called them up later, and they were the inspiration for a new track so they're not "pointless and useless" in my real world.

Think of them as construction kits. I wouldn't use one made by someone else but using my own makes sense to my workflow.

I read a popular sound designer say that someone took one of his one finger patches and used it on a YouTube video un-edited so if one is just looking for backing music for a video then...not useless.

The world is larger than your neighborhood.

Luckily Rapid does so much more than "one finger" sounds so to think of Rapid as just a one finger preset machine would be myopic.

I upgraded to the new Serum2, but after taking the CPU hit, I still think the Rapid concept was the right one.
Now I really just need a few more filters and FX.
Especially the filters.

Post

You’re right. Serum 2 is great, but has strange some strength internal design decisions. For example, how it handle voices routed to filter (this is the main reason why you can hit all available CPU pressing just one note). It routes ALL the voices including unison ones to filter polyphonically. Rapid is unbelievably well thought and optimized with no sacrifice in sound.

Having Serum and 300 synthesizers more, I use Rapid for ethereal or glitchy sounds where I need clean sounds with touch of controllable wildness, washiness and imperfection. Rapid FX are unique and very inspirational.

Looking forward to the next iteration of this beast!
