Hi everyone here, I'm the engineer behind Mystrix.

I'm soon to launch Mystrix 2. It is an extremely portable, capable, and versatile grid MIDI controller with MPE capability.

Mystrix is a unique smart controller. It runs a smart OS that launches different applications. I shipped the original Mystrix in 2023, and it has since been updated to become very capable.

Here are some of the things it can do:
  • Basic MIDI interface, as you would expect from any MIDI controller.
  • Note app with very configurable layouts & scale, arpeggiator, chord, Euclidean rhythm, and more.
  • Strum chords using the touchbar
  • Highly customizable control panel with advanced features, including velocity-mapped MIDI RPN, NRPN, SysEx, and support for keyboard and gamepad control.
  • User Application based on Python & C++ SDK
  • Advanced computer control integration
  • And a lot more are under development, like a sequencer.
So it's finally time for a hardware upgrade. Here are some things that are upgraded to make it the ultimate expressive platform
  • Redesigned exterior
  • Standard built-in battery (7000mAh, 10hr+ usage)
  • Built-in 32GB storage
  • 2x continuous linear analog touchbars hidden in the bezel of the device
  • Ability to USB host
  • 3x USB-C ports for additional power and IO adapters
  • Premium RGBW LEDs
  • 6-axis Motion sensor
The prerelease Kickstarter page is now up for more information and its features. You can see at https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/203null/mystrix-2 (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/203null/mystrix-2)

I would love to know what you think of it and if any hardware changes need to be made before the design is finalized. The price is undermined yet as well, but it’s interesting to hear what you guys think would be a fit for it.

Hi!
I'm really interested by this.
My main use case would be to make a portable controller for my synthstrom Deluge or laptop. The size/mpe/battery/wireless capacity are really appealing to me.

As a launchpad pro/pro mk3 and linnstrument user, I'd love to know how it compare to those regarding pressure and velocity sensitivity. I love the launchpad pro mk3 for it's very light touch but much prefer the launchpad pro for precise pressure control, the ability to not go very high on pressure level even with high velocity stroke .

I wonder how the pads dimension compare too and how they are spaced comparatively to those other devices. For me launchpads are little too spaced and linnstrument a little too narrow for some precise y axis playing (but linnstrument then is really great for melody shredding ).

That's really cool to have more options on such devices, I wish you great success.
