Orion went out long ago. I would have paid 500 a year with NO updates to possible have one next year with new additions if it meant it wouldn't fade out. It's easy to take things for granted, just sayin

It’s not my responsibility to fund a company’s bad decisions or buy things I don’t need, want, or agree with. I’m a customer, not a sponsor. Nothing you’ve argued here qualifies as reasonable.Touch The Universe wrote: Thu May 21, 2026 12:14 pmIf you want them to implement your ideas, shoot them an email. If you want to have the hope any of them will ever be implemented, have some loyalty and support them, IF, AND STRESSING IF you can afford it, WHY NOT? It's longer term strategic thinking that has ZERO negative impact in your life, financially, or any other reason.noremorze wrote: Thu May 21, 2026 11:24 amWhat kind of logic is that? ‘You have money’ is not a justification for buying something you don’t need.
If a product’s survival depends on customers buying things they don’t need, want, or don't like the direction it's going, the problem isn’t the customers. What a weird take.Having Studio One change hands so often is a concerning sign. This situation calls for wisdom, prudence, and foresight from the community to ensure that the tools we rely on—especially the ones we love—continue to exist. Ultimately, it is an existential issue. If you enjoy the software and have countless projects tied to it, supporting it becomes a matter of long-term loyalty. Focusing too heavily on missing features, or withholding financial support in an attempt to force the software in a specific, personal direction, can be unrealistic. It risks hurting the software's future rather than helping it. If the current version is stable, fits your workflow, and helps you create, investing in the company is simply a wise way to protect your own tools.
CLEARLY, you , like I, can't just shovel out 90 at whim without pain, weather a feather weight or a heavy weight, so my suggestion simply isn't for you, otherwise you wouldn't have any reason to oppose such a reasonable statement. If you somehow do indeed have plenty of cash and won't feel even a pin prick, then you have larger issues like logic and wisdom to contend with. Meditation is good for this, not in emptyness but in scripture. my. 2c.
Clearly we don't resonate so have a good day. This will go nowhere fast![]()

Then don't. Simply ignore the product and move on to something that works for you.noremorze wrote: Thu May 21, 2026 12:25 pm It’s not my responsibility to fund a company’s bad decisions or buy things I don’t need, want, or agree with
Not really sure what the point is of telling us 56 different ways that you dislike Studio Pro.
We get it.

Perhabs you should spend some time reading and understanding my posts, instead of making replies like that. I've said that I love working in FSP and that I wish them a healthy future earlier in this thread. My conversations with this person were about whether or not someone should support a product when he/she doesn't need it or doesn't like the direction it's going. So no, you don't get it.

Reading them. Yes. Understanding them. No.noremorze wrote: Thu May 21, 2026 1:10 pmPerhabs you should spend some time reading and understanding my posts, instead of making replies like that.
Just so I am clear - within this thread - a quick look at the last post of Page 54 - that was you grinding Fender into the carpet over their IP/Copyright moves, claiming they have a B-credit rating, financial woes and then for good measure - posting a video from Tim Pierce to back it all up - but then here on Page 58 - it's all sunshine and roses and that very same company is now awesome and you wish them well with a "healthy future"?
If you want people to really understand you - consider picking a side and sticking with it.
Cause right now - I have no idea what side of the fence you are on.

You're right, you didn't understand how I meant that. I meant to say that I wish the program a healthy future. But I can understand the confusion, perhabs I should have used the word it instead of them.
I don't see Fender as a healthy company for them to thrive under. Even moreso after all these lawsuit shenanigans. Your earlier comment still doesn't have anything to do with what was being discussed there.

The only thing that is "true" (at the same time) is that Fender owns Studio Pro and has owned them for 5 years now.noremorze wrote: Thu May 21, 2026 1:45 pm You're right, you don't understand them. Both can be true at the same time.
If this company was not supportive of Studio Pro and/or had no plans to promote a healthy future for it - they sure have a funny way of showing it. They have had 5 years to dump it. No company would invest 5 years into in any product if the product did not have a healthy future.
As far as what going on in the "guitar" division (vs the DAW division) over there - Fender is a giant corporation with thousands of things on the go. They can choose protect their IP (however they see fit) AND ensure a solid future for Studio Pro - all at the same time.

That's a ludicrous assertion, companies deprecate products all the time. And I already provided 3 examples from one single company when it was claimed only a page or so ago.Vocalpoint Studios wrote: Thu May 21, 2026 2:03 pmNo company would invest 5 years into in any product if the product did not have a healthy future.
Maybe you would like to tell us how many years Adobe invested in Director, Flash, or Fireworks, though.
Or perhaps you could explain the 'healthy future' of NI's Reaktor, or Battery? Or Spektral Delay.
An idiot on Set Theory:

Bit overlap there since I edited my reply, unfortunately. But to respond to your point, people have already posted several examples of the opposite being true. It happens all the time. It says nothing about the future of the DAW. The fact remains that Fender is not a financial healthy company.Vocalpoint Studios wrote: Thu May 21, 2026 2:03 pmThe only thing that is "true" (at the same time) is that Fender owns Studio Pro and has owned them for 5 years now.noremorze wrote: Thu May 21, 2026 1:45 pm You're right, you don't understand them. Poor example for Adobe. By the time those three hit the skids - the world had already long since abandoned them.whyterabbyt wrote: Thu May 21, 2026 2:12 pmMaybe you would like to tell us how many years Adobe invested in Director, Flash, or Fireworks, though.
Reaktor? My personal take? Loss of human IP - plain and simple. That app was curated by a couple of brainacs who were really the only ones who understood what it all meant - for decades. There is no one left at the "modern" NI - to take that code and make it happen (like the old days). And the market has changed dramatically. Easily a cost/benefit equation that makes no sense today.whyterabbyt wrote: Thu May 21, 2026 2:12 pm Or perhaps you could explain the 'healthy future' of NI's Reaktor, or Battery?
And Battery? Do I really need to go there? That one had a great run (and I still use it from time to time) but drums can be done so much better by so many other tools now.
To close - ANYTHING is possible. I am not saying that any product cannot have turnover or be cancelled. But lets be very clear - Fireworks was not (and could never be) Studio Pro in terms of popularity, longevity and overall community.
I think Fender is just getting started here with SP to be honest.

Yes, you do, but please do so without stepping outside what was said in your actual assertion.

Your cherrypicking indicates you're aware that SP lacks on those versus Flash and Director, though.Vocalpoint Studios wrote: Thu May 21, 2026 2:21 pm. But lets be very clear - Fireworks was not (and could never be) Studio Pro in terms of popularity, longevity and overall community.

What exactly were you expecting? That these three dinky apps formed a trifecta for world wide domination and should still be going today?
My assertion stands. Battery is tired and done. Because something (many somethings actually) came along and ate it's lunch. Pretty clear to me.whyterabbyt wrote: Thu May 21, 2026 2:12 pmYes, you do, but please do so without stepping outside what was said in your actual assertion.
Sorry that you cannot accept that.
