Looks super nifty! I've been wanting to see something like this for quite some time. Two issues... How much friggin' cash is this thing gonna cost? Why would I pay all that cash when there's maybe a handful of software compatible with OSC?

Seems like a great product in theory, but they really gotta add MIDI support if they expect it to take off.

I'm really interested in it too. I'm expecting it to be fairly expensive - I'm guessing in the 500-800$ range but who knows. As for midi, I'm sure it would be fairly easy to make an OSC->MIDI. I'd be surprised if they don't add support for it.

Some cool uses for it that I can imagine: If it was integrated with studio software (like cubase) - clicking on the mixer window would bring up the mixer faders on the Lemur.. clicking on a VST would bring up a keyboard or a drumpad type interface on the lemur, etc.

BTW, did anyone check this thing out at NAMM?

I agree. If it could detect what device has focus in Windows and update the control surface to that device, it would be quite a useful product. Maybe instead of MIDI it could integrate with VST the way Cubase handles parameter automation for plug-ins. Still, as long as it is OSC only, it is a very limited device. Who wants to fiddle with some custom OSC to MIDI converter in MaxMSP?

Darn it, they don't have anything listed in the eastern half of the US, except for New York city. What would be wrong with them visiting Cincinnatti OH, Louisville KY, Pittsburgh PA, or even Huntingon WV? These people need to get out more.

I really should build a space-time portal in my back yard. It's about the only way I could visit all the cool events I want to attend.

Holy hell!!! I could buy a pair of Elo touch screen LCD monitors for that price (may not have multitouch, but at least I can touch the actual DAW controls)! I would not pay more than a thousand bucks for that thing and thats IF they supported MIDI or some more available standard then OSC. This thing will fall flat on its face!

I have searched high and low. The trouble is, there aren't even really that many touch screen monitors. I want a dual Elo touch screen LCD setup, but I'm not even sure I can do two touch screens on the same machine. Anyone here have a lot of touch screen experience? Maybe a music store that sells touch screens for DAWs and can try to set this up to see how it works? If you find a multi touch LCD computer monitor, you will be my hero for all time! I would be a bit skeptical though as most PC touch screens just emulate the mouse input. Ever seen two mouse pointers? How about five?

heh, I'll keep my eye out for one. To do the multi-touch stuff it would have to be programmed into the application. I'd be willing to write some software if the hardware existed. I did find this http://www.merl.com/projects/DiamondTouch/ - but I'm not sure if it's available to the public.

Oooh... tasty! I want the one the guy has his arms around. One on each side of me on stage with my Keystation in the middle. How's about a 6 inch by 12 inch Synth 1 with knobs you can grab with your fingers?

But serious now ... this multitouch feature is really great!
