well the trick is to convince everyone they're going to get a commercial product and then do it for free, oc if i come out and say that, no one will bother to contribute. hell, i might make it 2x price of kubik because i'm wild and no one can tame me.
:p
jack - got the beast settin right behind me.. tbh, i think of the fizmo as 8 grainy oscs thru a grainy filter w/o any real synthesis options.. (and a nice ensoniq fx processor, but that's fx..) stack waves, woo how exciting :p it's fun to use w/ te knobs tho. (place your bids :p)
never relly thought about it, but the fizmo to me, excels at that sort of 'digital transparency' where low sample rate sort of thins the spectrum and makes it sit well in a mix.. "you can see the sound and what it is, but it's not particularly 'fat'" never researched my opinion too much but i'm guessing downsampling anythnig will lend the same qualities..
so can't guarantee delivery as such, but if you tried xompler, imo the cross-modulation w/ the dh sample modules i use is above and beyond the feature set of our purple friend.

it's spelled tarncewave afaik.
-----------------------------------------------------
'I'm glad I've seen that done,' thought Alice. 'I've so often read in the newspapers, at the end of trials, "There was some attempts at applause, which was immediately suppressed by the officers of the court," and I never understood what it meant till now.'
'If that's all you know about it, you may stand down,' continued the King.
'I can't go no lower,' said the Hatter: 'I'm on the floor, as it is.'
'Then you may sit down,' the King replied.
Here the other guinea-pig cheered, and was suppressed.
'Come, that finished the guinea-pigs!' thought Alice. 'Now we shall get on better.'
'I'd rather finish my tea,' said the Hatter, with an anxious look at the Queen, who was reading the list of singers.
'You may go,' said the King, and the Hatter hurriedly left the court, without even waiting to put his shoes on.

Tried Xompler, it was interesting, but it didn't really sound like the FIZMO to moi... however, I also tried Xampler, and it kept me twiddling for an hour or so... and now has a permanent home in my plug folder. So, yes, THANKS for Xampler, it's very awesome (
). But Xompler isn't the shit we need and shit for the FIZMO-ish shit, I shit you not.

exactamundo
16bit 44100 mono samples
100 wavecycles
40000 samples total length
zero crossings every 400 samples
sounds fine to me :p imo with this kinda synthesis, "anyhting is prolly useful somewhere.."
jackdark - dunno if you've seen yer 'jack' thread - pleasure to be used..
ja, xompler =/= fizmo, more meant as a single cycle rompler with the extra cycle thrown in for yucks, but same implementation if you up the # of wavecycles.
imo the whole tarncewave (and i thought i'd have to go thru naming hell again with this one..) concept is a bit two-dimensional.. the wavs take some preparation so you're pretty much stuck with what's in the box as a synth.. then you go up-tarncewave, down-tarncewave..
the fiz's appeal was the knobs.. and 'immediately sounding different,' but in this day and age it's ~a parlor trick to release a synth or effect with novel but limited scope.. somethnig that can make a commercial impact, people go 'ooh that's sparkly' and clean up until 2 mos. later when the next consumer abatement product is up :p
however, then again..
if tarncewaves are 2-dimensional, that's a discretely different tonality than say pm, with one less dimension! ooh, sounds like an ad slogan campaign in the making. sometimes you need a 2-dimensional semantic.
so.. all joking aside, i'll do it.. 4 used waves gets you a license regardless of how much i do or don't charge for it :p prolly be a big d/l at 79k per wav!!
even kinda looking forward to it.. the fm sound of dh's waveplayers is my favourite se fm sound :p
now go check out concretefx's kubik!!!
more user support than you'll get outta my ass
