this is heaven for musician and hell for music artists!

in bosnia you have two music scenes:

1. traditional folk music packed in new software and hardware produced from guys who are trained to turn on or off their expensive hardware and almost free software. bullshit. every song is same and is on level of mentally retarded kid. lyrics is on the bottom of civilized look on the world. sad but true...
comment: reality that they will always have people to sell that "thing"

2. tiny pop music that follows world 70`s and 80`s standards. badly produced with pattern lyrics and always one theme: LOVE.
comment: if you don`t have relatives you can`t breakthrough.

opinion:
there is no critic in this country to blaast the scum away. there is no copy rights to clean the scene.

people get paid about 150-200 euro per month, I have few exams and after that I will be professor of musicology. on job I will expect 300 euro.

Tell me, am I guilty to use cracked software to express creative potential, you know that feeling it is a need just like sex, hunger...

Tell me how to expect future with all this circumstances?

You can express your creativity using free (or very cheap) stuff. Pay 50$ to but eXT or 80$ to buy Tracktion 1 and then there are lots of free VSTs and VSTIs to use. If you want something more specific this is what I use (copied from another thread)


1. Host

Tracktion NFR. The only thing I am missing is audio loop recording

2. Additional host

Live Delta (A free cutdown version of Live, bundled with my audiophile). Jamming with my loops, time stretching etc.

3.4. Synths and why

a) Asynth - Warm analog sound
b) Polyblit - The same + more presets + more complexity
c) Crystal - Poor man's Absynth? Maybe.
d) Drumatic - Poor man's Microtonic
e) sfz - I need drums, bass, piano sounds

If your going to be a professor of musicology, I think you should also make some music, for various reasons. But (like Zeoy pointed out), there are ways to do this without using cracked software, or least without spending very much money at all. If you can put together a nice collection of free software, then you can help students by being able to recommend free software that they also can use. If you use lots of cracked software, you are not setting a great example for your students.

The music scene in lots of places is not real great, but you can make your own, more interesting music. That seems like an OK situation. If you get a job as a professor, you are in a better situation than most professional musicians, who usually don't make much money at all unless they get very lucky and have great connections (such as relatives working in the business).

The honest truth is that having lots of expensive software (bought or stolen) won't suddenly make you a better musician/producer.

You work hard with that free software and you'll still be able to make great music i'm sure
