New Reaper Plugins/Utilities (Not FX)

Just a heads up for Reaper users here that don't frequent the cockos forum much.

Justin opened up Reaper for internal plugins recently, and there's been some pretty cool developments...I'm sure this will snowball, I'll put all the plugin links in this thread for easy reference. You just paste them into Reaper/plugins.

Lots of new actions, highlight for me are 'rename take', 'repeat paste', and 'insert random shuffled file'.

These are considered beta, but they work great! Give them a whirl...

Well not fx in the VST-sense but plugins still, so the functionality is rather tightly integrated with Reaper. (Well, as tightly as the 3rd party developer APIs allow now, they do not yet cover everything, for example automation envelopes are not available at all for Extension Plugins yet. So some stuff needs certain "hacks" around the limitations. But I am sure more and more stuff can be eventually covered properly.)

Not exactly a plugin, here's a utility that lets you split midi files in Reaper into monophonic files eg kick, snare, etc.

If you don't use Reaper, you could probably do this already, but we couldn't easily...until now.

This bat file lets you export multiple midi files from Reaper and opens up an explorer window containing them, here's the thread:

This isn't a plugin, but it allows you to navigate much faster in Reaper (like the 'save as' screen for instance). It puts all your important folders in the right click menu, so cool!

Also in the above thread, there's a reg file that'll allow you to open any file in notepad, which is great for Reaperites since all the rpps etc are human-readable:

This is ReaBIN, a Take Management utility for Reaper from Xenakios, it's a beta and he's recoding it completely for a new release, but I still find it useful and working fine:

REAPER is so fast for exporting multiple clips of Loops/Samples etc...you just 'save as' a new project (checking the 'create subdirectory' option), then select the various items (clips) and use the 'apply fx as new take' or 'render as new take' commands...all the new renders appear in the new folder.

Only twist is, the file names may not be what you wanted (it will append the track name to them plus render etc).

This brilliant utility lets you rename multiple files in an instant, it is so cool I had to include it HERE.

It's probably useful for other daw users also, enjoy!

Reaper is becoming quite interesting for final mixdown for me. I'm impressed, how it has matured within the last months and what it offers from the amount of keycommands, over the user-macros to the extremely well thought out screenset-concept, that seems even better to me, than the one in Logic (because of the differentiating between window-layouts and track-layouts; but i haven't tried it in practice yet).

In a sense, what you are saying Bevoss, is that Reaper is just like Windows; ie it can't be satisfactorily used without tons of third party add-ons...

The ReaDoc utility converts Reaper project files into a readable format, for quickly viewing what tracks/fx/item positions/ sends etc are in use on a particular version of a project.

Well none of that stuff is to my liking so far, but I frequent the Jesusonic forum, check out the Overtone Eq.

It really can boost treble! Not quite like some ordinary run o' the mill eq.
