oh wow yeah thats the other thing, different players sound so different its like individuals voices.
i think he was referring to the timbral flare that occurs when a trumpet is overblown into the loudest ranges, tho i kinda disagree with him , i feel milestone actually does pretty well in that area.

well, even a perfect emulation would have someone saying your lines now wouldnt it?
perhaps, once again, i can do some real trumpet and milestone together demos this week which will lend some context, perhaps i dont get really blarey on milestone because i dont get really blarey on real trumpet.
i dunno man, im trying to be as objective as i can be after all, but i'm pretty damn impressed by the behavior.
maybe you could give me an example of what youre listening for?

If you couldn't hear already...Tony Ostinato wrote:maybe you could give me an example of what youre listening for?
Get a Miles Davis recording, hold it against your demo-song, or make one playing the same song Miles is playing, at least a couple of bars and pay attention with your ears, close your eyes and tell yourself 'seek life'
Niels
ps.
Tony, although I realize I am a bit ironic, but not hateful, OK

Niels... the plugin's name is Miles'tone but this is just a name... It should simulate 'a' trumpet... a generic trumpet sound, I don't pretend to simulate Davis' lungs, mouth, cheeks, and his sore throat
Also I'd say that I prefer Dizzy over Miles...
I should rename this plugin 'Mr.Dizzy'

As much as I'm impressed with Tonys demo, I could instantly tell it's not a trumpet. Guess it's some phrasings that just aren't common on trumpets and it's even more so the legato lines which sound somewhat unnatural to me. Still, highly impressive.
How is legato controlled on this thing?

Sascha,
If I you ask me, the legato has an 'on going unchanged sinus', if I re-call(heard) right.

Have you also listened to this one?
This is played by me with keyboard and BC-3.
Tony uses a WX5 and when he pushes on high notes and high dynamics the sound get unnatural because the playing is more 'sax-ish' Can't explain this (hard to do in english!) but I noticed some artificiality since my first listen. Overall I like Tony's playing very much.

Impressive demo...
Back to business
Besides the unnaturel sounding glissando's, if you listen carefully the dynamic-expression is missing (monotone).

For the record, I don't set 'a high standard' and call everything beneath it crap;
The right perspective is, I have good ears, I know the trumpet-sound, I hope I can be of any help.
