I gotta say for my part and a few others the word is being spread as rapidly as we can
I will admit and have stated i am not a huge fan of the EQ (Workflow thing not audio quality, prefer DDMF IIEQ) but this package at the price i got it at was a seriously amazing purchase

That being said, i think a group buy is the obvious boost point here for MCP, the normal price is way out of reach for a lot of people (To invest in an indie dev) and getting it at a much lower cost would create a roots level userbase.

Another idea here is that you need a lot and i mean a lot more presets, anybody who thinks that the bulk of users is not using a preset as a starting point is very much kidding themselves, and truth be told there isn't enough variety in the presets in MCP and that belittles the quality and usefulness of this package ;)

Want to spread the word? Follow the current trends and release a sub-$50 console saturation plugin. Just a suggestion.
Remember the iLokalypse Summer 2013

Samples and presets and free stuff!

You would seem to be correct, with the current amount of "group buy" discussions I've seen on this forum since I joined :) Unfortunately due to the tongue-lashing I received earlier in this discussion, the current owner thinks reducing the price at all will just destroy it's credibility. Even if nobody ever talks about or gives attention to MixControl Pro, we would rather let it fade away than reduce it's worth.

This is certainly something we can look into accomplishing. Is there something in particular in the current presets that you feel we are missing?

You have to think big!
Give it for free to some renowned mixing engineer.
For example Dave Pensado has a TV show. It will be great if he talk about Mixcontrol.

Yes, that is more along the lines of what we were thinking. Thanks for the heads up :)

That's pretty much the stupidest statement i have read in a long while and puts me off the company as a whole to be perfectly honest :(

Really? A statement from someone working in a non-ownership role, about something having nothing to do with the software or customer service in any way whatsoever puts you off from a whole company? Whatever suits you, I guess. However, you missed this part, which is the main reason behind it all:

Maybe you should read the first 5 to 10 pages and see exactly why it is that he doesn't want to do a group buy or any sales. I personally don't have any issue with it, but I'm also not in charge.

First, let me say that Mixcontrol is a great product...even though I am a hobbyist I do have some experience in music and recording (albeit not really professionally) and MCP just plain works for much of what I do.

Second, I second the idea of more presets. I can muddle my way around a compressor and eq but I like to have "starting point" presets to tweak from. As for what I would like to see in the presets; I would like some good instrument centered presets for guitar, bass, piano etc.

Thirdly, DNR is a great company and you are truly some of the "good guys." Thanks for your work.

Thank you very much for the kind words! I will pass along your preset requests and we'll see about making that happen for you guys as soon as possible :)

I'll fourth that! I haven't come across that many companies whose PR representation is as good as that of DNR's. Since the change of ownership Steven has been unbelievably active on KVR, constantly replying to all kinds of comments and getting the wishes of customers through to the design/programming team. A big up for that... There has been an amazing improvement of the software since it's inception and that in a relatively short amount of time.
The software does what it says on the label and is up there quality wise with most of the better channel strip do anything at the same time plug ins, so whats not to like. I have all sorts of different plug ins from all sorts of different manufacturers (Waves/112db/Fab Filter/DMG/Sonnox/Cytomic/Softtube etc) and I still find a place for MCP in my mixes. I think for what it is and the support thats offered that it's also very reasonably priced.
As a preset junkie (sorry tweakers) more presets would be a great idea.

Thank you! And I've asked for more presets to be added, along with a variation of different variations that people would most likely need, including the ones bobbackwards listed in his post :) Thank you all for the nice comments and feedback!

Just like to say that having had a quick play with Mix Control Pro over the weekend on a demo job I'm doing, I have to say it's a very nice tool. Good sound quality, easy to use. Flexible enough to mess around with as an out and out effect, as well as a mixing/mastering tool.

More presets is always a good idea, as different genres require completely different methods.

Good product though. Very happy to have it in my studio.

I just met up with a friend of mine whom I haven't seen in about a year, and we went into one of his friends' studio so that I could help them record and produce a young girl singing traditional Japanese music for her family and friends. We get into the studio, and the owner proceeded to show me the tracks, which I actually thought were pretty good already. When I commented on how nice the vocals sat with the arrangements, I was told that he had a secret weapon:

A cracked copy of MixControl Pro. Actually, everything he had was cracked, right down to the Windows 7 with the "This is not a genuine copy of windows" in the bottom right corner of the screen. Too sad really.

When I asked him if he had a problem using illegal software to produce his tracks, he told me that "these big corporations can afford to lose a few dollars!". After he made that statement, my blood pressure increased significantly and was about to start hitting him with my laptop, but instead I just asked him to open the "about" box on MixControl Pro and read the credits aloud..

I've gotten about 6 calls from him since then, leaving me messages and saying how sorry he was, blah blah blah.

That's some story Reason. He must have been (and quite rightly!) mortified when he read the about section. We can only hope he's learning the lesson.
