Fantastic and thank you.
(btw, I should have mentioned it earlier.. a typo: "More linear freuency response for filter 'LP MS-20 12dB' with high cutoffs."... should of course be frequency)

Just installed this and it appears to have wiped out all my user presets. No read me file to notify so make sure you back these up before installing. Thankfully I've got most of these elsewhere but I would have thought it shouldn't overwrite user presets, they were still present after a major version upgrade.

Strange. That didn't happen to me on Windows 11. I love Icarus for the fact that it's perfect for 90s and 2000s-style electronica.shonky wrote: Fri Mar 06, 2026 4:07 pm Just installed this and it appears to have wiped out all my user presets. I'm on a win 10 machine. The presets were made in Icarus 1 and this update seems to have overwritten all my presets and wavetables, including a few I'd made since upgrading to Icarus 3.Korg Supporter wrote: Fri Mar 06, 2026 4:25 pmStrange. Make sure that:
- You don't accidently install the software twice to different locations. Most DAWs will only see the most recent installation which contains the factory content only.
- You don't store your custom sounds within the factory content directories. Use own directories like ".../Icarus_Sounds/MyPatches/MyPatch.fxp"

I only installed the vst 3 version which installed to the default location and had separate folders within Icarus sounds and wavetables as described and they've just disappeared.Tone2 Synthesizers wrote: Fri Mar 06, 2026 4:37 pm Make sure that:

Not sure quite what's going on there but when i opened the standalone version the presets showed up and then they magically reappeared after opening the vst 2 version then the vst 3. Seems to have resolved anyway

After reading what you mentioned, I backed up my patches first before installing. But when I checked, all of mine were still there.shonky wrote: Fri Mar 06, 2026 4:54 pm Not sure quite what's going on there but when i opened the standalone version the presets showed up and then they magically reappeared after opening the vst 2 version then the vst 3. Got sorted in the end, seemed to be a duplicate install causing the issue. All working fine now, just a bit of a panic as I thought I'd lost ~100 presets and didn't want anyone else to be in the same predicamentExamigan wrote: Fri Mar 06, 2026 8:18 pmAfter reading what you mentioned, I backed up my patches first before installing. Select the noise of your choice under 'Noise' in the None/Partial tab of the oscillator. Very simple.Essent wrote: Sat Mar 07, 2026 1:18 am Why is it so incredibly difficult to play white noise only? I fail at it. I press "init", and what should I do next?

You have at least three noise sources: You can load a noise sample. You can use the noise mode in the oscillator transform section. And you have white and pink noise available in the filter distortion section. Noise is also available as a mod source, which can give rise to interesting textures.Essent wrote: Sat Mar 07, 2026 1:18 am Why is it so incredibly difficult to play white noise only? I fail at it. Just have one oscillator on and turn the rest off.
