Yes. You get it 100%pk-1 wrote: Wed Jun 10, 2026 11:25 amThe rationale behind automation clips (or however you want to call them) is exactly the same as the one for audio and MIDI events on the track. You want to treat a certain part as a logical unit, not as an unstructured sequence of nodes, notes etc.
If you have a set of meticulously designed automation lanes for an instrument, say dynamics, vibrato, and filter for some VI, and then you swap out the instrument for another one, you start again by defining new automation lanes and copying over the content one by one. How much easier would it be to just select a new target parameter for the lane?tommijk wrote: Wed Jun 10, 2026 10:39 am Quite easy, imo. And what do you mean with destination plugin of an automation track? It so easy to set up a new automation lane with any plugin, any parameter.. so changing a destination plugin seems irrelevant to me.

You all are right. I dug up the video and it’s wrong. It said that while it’s in beta it’s only available to Pro + users. That’s not true. On google I was able to find multiple sources clarifying that the feature is subscription only - not just beta.stanft wrote: Mon Jun 15, 2026 8:23 amThat has nothing to do with whether you work for me or not. It has to do with making a statement without any prove or source.
The Fender site clearly states that the Studio Assistant is an exclusive Studio Pro+ feature. So if you say that this is not the case and it will be available for everyone, you seem to have some other source. Or your statement is simply gossip.

I would think that any kind of AI assistant is of course going to be subscription, because it is a real-time data center service.
I'm not too keen on such an idea, because it is an incurred monthly cost to Fender/PreSonus, which always has the potential to cost more than subscriptions bring in, particularly if token costs increase. That puts Fender Studio Pro at a higher risk of losing money, which is never good for a product's longevity.

I dont care about sound packs and antique Presonus plugins locked behind a sub, but features that are baked into the native GUI is a bit naughty.

But are they going to want to have multiple projects open at once? I can't really see it.Trancit wrote: Mon Jun 15, 2026 7:18 amFor film music composers using a ton of huge orchestral libraries this might be a different story...
