I'd like the ability to "compress" the playlist/patterns. What I mean is, as a song develops you create various MIDI patterns and map them out on the playlist. Later in the process, things are abandoned and I'd like to be able to mark "tracks" in the playlist for deletion, and then do a cleanup that would remove them from the playlist, delete any MIDI patterns associated, optionally remove generators from the SS if no longer used, and then "compress" all the tracks in the playlist - i.e. move higher ones down into the now empty slots and patterns.

Additionally or alternatively I've always wanted to have multiple playlists, presumably tab selectable, for experimenting with arrangements. I'd prefer to have the project file contain multiple playlist arrangements than to have multiple project files.

And while FL is by far not the worst in this respect *cough* sonar *cough*

I would welcome some abilty to organize the plugs menu.

I'd also like to be able to dock some of the windows so that they "stay on top". For example maybe I want the mixer to always occupy a certain part of the screen and always to overlay the playlist or piano roll. If I just nudge one MIDI note in the piano roll, I don't want to have to click the FX button or tab thru all the windows just to get the mixer back. Ditto for channel properties/plug interfaces. Basically I'd like better management of the client windows and some "click reduction" in that regard. Perhaps a tabbed interface that I can leave the plug interface open in one, the mixer open in another, etc.

The developers seem to *really* want you to take the multi-display approach.

Is there a chapter called "Features You Won't Find, Even if You Look"? You shouldn't need to reead a manual cover-to-cover or trawl through every screen of the help to work out a piece of software.
You know how many times I have looked at the help in ORION? Once, when SideChains were first added so I could work out how to rig them. 2 minutes in the help system in 5 years. That's intuitive software.

2. You are arguing vociferously against a piece of software that you don't personally use at all. It's well known that you don't use this software, yet you feel compelled to rail against it.

I'd like FLStudio to be more player-friendly. I feel restricted when I use it for live MIDI sequencing. Its quantising feature needs a lot of improvement too... for those of us who're really bad keyboardists.

And after that he became a spokesman for Orion. That doesn't make it okay for him to be unreasonable in the forum. He's trolling. We shouldn't accept that from members who *should* know better.

He also just gives one man's oppinion which can never be that harmful. He just doesnt sugar-coat his descriptions of things he doesnt like, that's all.

I would think that some one who doesn't use FL would add a lot to the conversion about what is missing. There is probably something missing that is keeping that person from using it.

For me it's a few things: The audio tracks are no fun; I prefer a buzz like routing system, and (although I hate myself for this,) the graphics turn me off a bit.
I know that's not a what's missing but I could rephrase it into a what's missing if you like.

PS I WANT to like FL. I think the support, price, sequencer, and buzzmachines make it very attractive.

Agreed. The only reason I look at the help file is to try and point out mistakes to the writers and sometimes, being 100% honest here, because I like how it's written and enjoy the read. If FL doesn't work intuitively for you, fine. Yet I've yet to read a post of yours that contains the words "FL" without a sweeping generalisation about it, which you obviously think applies to every potential buyer of the software.

Every time, variations on
"that's exactly it about FL, it obviously flawed in [some fundamental manner], and it reeks of unprofessionalism"

A bot could say as much, and about any program.

flstudio (whats missing for you?)
