Ok, this song was cathartic for him, after his son's tragic death, however, it should have remained a private recording, and not commercially released in order to fatten up his bank balance even further.
Man, if all the royalties would have gone to a kids charity or something, that would have helped, but as it is, I hear Clapton wailing about his poor kid, ... and then counting out the money.

oh man...dude...yes, yes, yes, yes.....i was trying to think of it, i remember mocking this admittedly heartfelt song so many times...oh wait, i know the one i'm thinking of..."Wonderful Tonight", the hands down worst piece of crapola to pass into my ears......
I remember at the time reading an interview with Clapton, who said of his recently deceased son something like "But you know, he really made a tremendous impact". Perhaps not the most fortunate turn of phrase...
