jorgen wrote:the problem is that the main window and main mixer are too different. The mixer shows the "audio output strips" for each comp that has one or more audio outs. They are not compatible with each other, and they shouldnt be either. XT lets you work both modular and/or the "hardware" way with a mixer. Thast a killer feature if you ask meWhat you need is cable volume, but Im not sure if in what stage of the pre-releases it will be implemented.
in XT2 just drag the reverb effect from the insert slot to the send slot.n buzz, often used to start out with a reverb as an insert on a synth, then I would decide I needed to add another synth to that part. I would want to share that reverb (or distortion or what ever)
Yes, it's dockable, just right-click the window caption and select "dock". The sequencer has its own mixer view as well (per track).is it possible to have the main mixer in a separate tabbed page?
You can have unlimited sends and inserts. The view will grow when needed.Jorgen, it looks like there's only screen space for about 2 inserts in the mixer?
The truth about XT2 (XT2 info ONLY- no comments here please)

in response to what programming tools he uses:
Visual C++ 6.0 compiler/IDE on windows and gcc 4.0 on linux (using the default texteditor with ubuntu, gedit is it?)
win: win32 headers, asio and vst sdk
linux: xlib headers, alsa and jack headers
I have made my own gui lib with wrappers around win32's and xlib's window, drawing and mouse/keyboard event handling functions. And Ill probably end up writing my own IDE Embarassed (nerd to the bone)

I mean, do you also get the parameters names etc like in the screenshots, or do you have to map ccs for main window comps ?
[EDIT: wrong attribution]jorgen wrote:Yes, you can select ANY parameter from a list. Vol, pan, mute, send levels, per insert power/wet/all-vst-params. Same with send effects and group channels.

From the 'XT2 Internal Timing' - thread:
le_buzzkaido wrote:I've always got a problem with XT1 :
If you put multiple sequencers or some synced (to host) plugins like delays in the modular view, there is no syncronisation between sequencers and plugins...
Is it possible to have three sync mode ? (both for plugins and sequencers)
* Internal : use it-self clock
* External : use received clock
* Global : use the global clock

jorgen on 31 Mar 2006 wrote:well at least I can say
- automation of VST params directly (cc mapping of course still there for external controllers)
- you can have VST automation inside audio/midi parts in the controller view
- automate mute/solo/pan/volume/bypass/send/dry-wet etc
- record gui movement

synth/sampler/fx is the hardest thing to code, so by getting it off my back I can focus on workflow...top priority
