You can look at the things that Fritz wants to add first over at zynewave.com's forums. There is a "Future" section that has a sort of list of those things. There are other things I believe, but that's generally the first stuff he wants to add.

Can I ask something more specific here?

I've heard workflow mentioned a few times here - what is it about workflow that you guys like in Podium so far? This is far my most important "feature"...

Well, once you get the hierarchical method of working, it makes so much sense. There is so much flexibility on how you nest your tracks. You can arrange the UI in ANY way you want, down to every last button and even the size of different sections. You have screensets that are pretty nice(kinda like in logic). But primarily, when it comes to workflow, hierarchical mixing just makes sense once you figure it all out. The bounce(freeze) functions are just fantastic.

Sorry, I'm still new, so describing things is a bit harder right now. But I do indeed like it. Maybe somebody else can go into more detail.

By the way, version 1.82 is out now! I'm so excited, as it gives us new ways to navigate using the mouse wheel. Various things are included. This is something I was hoping it would get, as I'm used to this feature!

How do you compare Podium with Tracktion? I'm a T1 NFR user, and I'm very impressed with Podium CM. I don't care much about Rewire. So what do you think how these 2 compare in other respects?

Well, I'm still getting used to Podium, but here is my take on things.

Both are extremely powerful with routing. And both are very visual, just in different ways. I'd say that MIDI is better in Podium, and Podium has an actual audio editor, although basic still at this point. Both have drag and drop of plugins, tracks, etc.

Tracktion has things easier on the arranging side. It's just like it's always been, where in Podium it's a bit more you have to do at times. But in reality, both are very fast. For me, stability is rock solid in both. But that's just me.

It's really hard to say. I think I will spend more time with Podium before I start saying what it doesn't have though, as I don't know yet! It's been a long couple days, so I haven't got the time with it that I wanted to.

Podium isn't pulling me from Tracktion, but it sure does have some nice things. I got it because of it's surround sound stuff.

Sorry I can't say much more. But I know Tracktion so well, that if I go further I'll start on a list of what Tracktion has that I don't know if Podium has. And I'm tired, although I'm at work and can't do anything about it at the moment!

Thanks Brent. The more I try Podium the more I like it. The whole engine feels a little more solid than Tracktion to me. With things like full PDC and automatic I/O latency compensation when used with hardware equipments (I think I've read that from somewhere), it feels like the developer has put a lot of thought on the engine alone.

I'm not sure about T3 engine though. A few bugs that are left over from T1 still linger there. My love for Tracktion is shaking!

And also, an option to set the default VST knob handling to Circular, Relative Circular or Linear.

I'm a linear guy and it's always been defaulted to Circular so I'm happy

Is there any way of telling Podium not to scan the VST which seems to crash it all the time? I cannot use it since everytime I scan my VST folder Podium just crashes.

I had to rename FLStudio.dll as it constantly crashes Podium when scanning. Once the scan went through I could rename it... but only until I needed to rescan the VST folder again.

The latest 1.82 release (demo available) addresses this exact problem. Podium will now log the currently scanned plugin, and if it crashes, the plugin will be added to a quarantine list the next time you start Podium.

This is probably a monumentally stupid question (I am the official KVR forum idiot

) but I was just looking at the list of future improvements/developments, and wonder if you have any idea of timescale or prioritisation in that list. CLearly you have a fantastic vision for future development, and from what I have seen I am very interested in using Podium as *another option*, so I'm just curious really about whether we are talking in weeks, months, or years for most of that stuff?

All the items listed in the "future development" topic will keep me occupied for a couple of years. I also have plenty of other ideas that are not mentioned on the list. To get an idea of what's coming in the next few months, you should check my posts in the future forum. I post preview topics when I have something to show of a new feature I'm working on.
