I have that DVD the clip is from and it is awesome.
She does a 2 hour show with just her and her acoustic guitar.
Nothing to hide behind or to wash over any mistakes or the like in that situation

Although I began playing guitar after hearing Hendrix, I started out with an acoustic, & learned about open tunings from listening to Richie Havens.

I don't know if they've been mentioned yet, but 3 more that I would add would be Paul Simon, Joan Armatrading, & Todd Rundgren.

Also producer/composer virtuoso Jon Brion is not only a brilliant pianist, but a fantastic guitarist. I particularly like his acoustic rhythm playing. He plays with such an intensity and attack.
On the other end of the spectrum.. Paul Jackson Jr. was the superstar rhythm session guy in the 80's and 90's. He played on Michael Jackson's album and tons of other stuff. Definitely worth checking both of them out.

Bob Weir....
....hands down, one of the best (and probably most underrated, sadly)....

I definitely agree here. He can do some amazing stuff. Also agree with the underrated thing. I will say that outside the Dead he doesn't hold up as well. I have seen him with other groups and he wasn't as creative and innovative. He does sound good with Rob Wasserman though...BenCharles wrote:Bob Weir....
