hahah this is funny. i just installed parallels with windows xp. INSTANTLY got a virus. macs are better. i guess you get what you pay for right? seriously. anyone who thinks its better to load up their system with antivirus, spyware, and registry cleaners just doesn't know what a good computer is :) The fact is that windows alone has horrible sound to begin with. When i first bought a mac 5 years ago, my sound immediately opened up. I haven't had any problems with a mac since that day. If you think about the frustration most people get with a pc and the time it takes to maintain it, well. just not worth it. And yes sure, windows has much more plugins. but you may as well listen to those plugins with earplugs in because you aren't getting the true sound anyways :) You can see just how great microsoft is at sound support if you just plug in a usb audio device into vista. CRACKLE.

(allow me to push this along properly...........)

Mac sucks my big sweaty ping pong balls! Mac is like toe jam, PC RULES! "I"-crashes and "I"-wads are an alien threat designed by britney spears to rule the white-trash underworld.

Long live acer!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's pretty much a struggle to do anything in, say reaper, and have it sound good. Logic takes one try.
I would say that's more user-error than the audio engine of the DAW.

sorry i was in the middle of editing my message :)

so macs are a bit more expensive. time=money. in the long run the pc is costing you a fortune :) wonder how long it will take before everyone breaks their pcs with sledge hammers in frustration and switches to mac :D

Wow! With evangelists like you, LlukaX, it's a wonder we haven't all done that already! Mac needs more articulate spokespeople like yourself, who can provide the sort of unbiased and measurable data as evidence to make that switch that you've presented here!

If that is indeed true, then I do believe you have/had an inferiority complex of sorts. (or, at the very least, your motives for selecting a DAW are/were rather misguided).
Until I stopped fearing the Reaper, I, myself, poked at other ambitious little DAW's with sticks while grunting. See, that's how I know.
I am of the belief that most people are capable of selecting a DAW (be it expensive or not) for the right reasons. Ergo, you may perchance not 'know' to the extent that you have indicated.

My head hurts.
Oh, no advaya! I was merely being humorous.

But seriously, I find it very funny that Reaper's most outspoken critics are those who are not even running Windows...I'd love to know how these Logic users are able to evaluate its features...(There is Reaper for OS-X, but is beta version only)...

it's a few pages too early for an in before the lock

but what the hell in before the lock

got an iphone recently - all very nice except OSX crashes like a mofo - now symbian 60 theres an OS that gets it right
I believe every thread should devolve into character attacks and witch-burning. It really helps the discussion.

Post

I want to STEAL the mod's title when the time comes..........

it will be "this thread is dead"

hmm, well my mac rarely crashes. and when it does it crashes nice :) just the process that is causing the problem. Logic is incredible, i'd like to think something better will come out. But unless digidesign stops making people buy their hardware i doubt its going to happen.

Does that mean all the lovely music I make with Cubase from now on is zombie music? :hihi:

I've no idea how long it'll take. Last time I upgraded all my PC components was summer 2006. Took about two days to tweak and install all the important stuff. It runs 24/7 and I've never had to format or had any real problems at all in past 2 years. Never had a blue screen of death or a system freeze *shrugs*

I guess a few Mac users feel more comfortable within themselves spending that extra money by believing that all PC users have these mystical bad problems that we're supposed to be having.... when we're not :D

Macs and PC's rock, live with it ;)
