112db EQ is out

I was thinking about buying the redline bundle because I realy like the Redline Reverb and Monitor.

The EQ I like soundwise, but somehow I don't like the GUI and handling.
The delayed value readout when u hold the mouse over a knob ... I don't like it at all (it's already annoying me on the reverb).

Usually I use GlissEQ, HarmoniEQ and UAD 88RS and Cambridge.
I like the spectrum analyzer on Gliss, much more than the one on the redline EQ and I have the feeling that I can work much faster and more intuitiv with Gliss.

So I'm not sure about the bundle...

If I buy just the Reverb... I would have some coins left for AirEQ...

Soundwise the RedlineEQ is very different from AirEQ but in about the same league I think.

After spending a little bit more time with the EQ I think I'm sold. The Channel mode L/R and M/S is great.
The dynamic EQ is very nice and usefull and it's behaviour is quite different from my GlissEQ.
The display zoom function is usefull too.

The handling in the EQ Screen seems good to me (with the hold shift/ctrl and alt features).

On my wishlist there would be 2 things now.

1. Enable/Disable option for "detent previous position" feature. Sometimes this makes it hard to sweep fluently around a certain area.

2. Big EQScreen Mode/Knob Mode. Since I think it's more intuitive and faster to work in the EQ Screen Mode, it would be nice to have a Big EQ Screen Mode(The Auto Display Range feature and the analyzer would benefit from this). I would not miss the EQ knobs in this mode...

Nah, unfortunately it's those pesky health issues that forced me to take some time off again. I'm now slowly picking up on 112dB again and will try to reply to everything that's been going on in the last couple of weeks.

BTW we've extended the introductory pricing on both Redline Equalizer and the Redline Bundle until Oct 22. There's still something wrong with latency compensation in the current version, and at the very least I'd like to see that fixed before then.

I'm saving my money to buy this EQ.

The workflow is sweet...the attention to detail is bad ass, and soundwise it's easily as good as my former favorite, AirEQ.

The only thing I hope for is a smoother spectrum readout. But that's minor.

I am strongly considering getting the Redline EQ, which in my tests so far seems very promising sound and feature wise. There's still a few problems operating it; it's quite slow responding in Wavelab. In Samplitude it runs more fluent.
I agree about the spectrum, this is not good. Voxengos and not to forget IL's Fruity Parametric EQ 2 spectrum view, are both much better in this respect.

Anyhow I would like to know the following about your upgrades and bundles:

Does the bundle include all the plug-ins you'll make for the redline series in the future as well, or is it just the current three plugins?
Do you offer lifetime updates, and if not what is your price policy when it comes to updates?

To be honest I'm not aware of the slow response in Wavelab--in fact I do a lot of my development testing in Wavelab and no problem here. If you'd like us to investigate please post at our forum or contact us at support@[lotsofdB].com and we'll see what we can do.

Criticism on the spectrum analyzer noted & a better one is in the works--no specific promises yet though!

As for the bundle, basically it represents a discount on buying multiple plugins. When the next Redline plugin is released the bundle will most likely expand to include it (and of course see a small bump in price). In time we will probably offer more bundle offers but that's in the future for now. And if you already bought one or two Redline plugins an upgrade to the bundle is possible--contact us for details.

Finally, updates with the same major version number (e.g., 1.x if you bought 1.0) will always be free and (as our customers will attest) we do what we can to solve any confirmed bugs free of charge. Future major version upgrades (2.0 in the above example) will obviously require a small fee.

Back once again to hype this.. If someone doesn't know, this EQ can simulate:

- Neve 1073
- Neve 1081
- Neve 1084 Consoles

- API 550A
- API 550B EQs

- SSL 4000E Console

Some other features:

- Linear phase/shifter 0-200%
- Optional dynamic EQ 0-100%
- M/S processing
- Optional auto-gain, that keeps the volume level stable when working
- 5 different types of cuts/boosts to choose, from soft to surgical


I don't know how accurate the simulation is, but this is basically flawless.

I've made some more testing and I can confirm that the slow response is not a Wavelab only issue, my Samplitude testing shows the same. It may have to do with it's latency, but I also have an idea that it need some amount of RAM to operate. The CPU load is not heavy. I will try to investigate further and see if I can find out what's happening.

I'm still tempted to get it, but it's always a little difficult to make up ones mind if it's not working fully for you, but hope it will in a newer version

Maybe it would be an idea to have two versions: one as it is now and another no or lo-latency when you don't need the features that produce latency

I've just installed the demo. So far, so fine.

However, when changing the frequency of any band using a remote controller (CC121) I get nasty clicks all the time. Is it meant to work that way?
