Hmmm, I've always thought Broadcast wrapped it up pretty nicely, especially on 'Haha Sound' (which, in my book, deserves a mention in this thread.)
I'd be really surprised if they didn't all have copies of An Electric Storm.

Good band though.

Since "the best albums ever" in human language basically means "your favorite albums" I'll just link my own list

Precisely. :)

IMHO these are all classics
Hawkwind "Space Ritual", Tangerine Dream "Sorcerer",
Black Sabbath "Sabbath Bloody Sabbath", Vangelis "Blade Runner",
Can "Tago Mago", Jimi Hendrix "Electric Ladyland",
John Carpenter "Best of", FSOL "Lifeforms", King Crimson "Red".

I guess I always stand alone on this (and everything else).

The Associates - Sulk.

It's lunch time and I'm bored so I'm going to add my top 10. These are in no particular order.

a-ha - Hunting High and Low
The Smiths - Strangeways, Here we Come
Pet Shop Boys - Actually
Christopher Cross - s/t
Rammstein - Herzelied
Depeche Mode - Music for the Masses
Kraftwerk - Computer World
Rupesh Cartel - Mainland
Diorama - The Art of Creating Confusing Spirits
Skinny Puppy - Mind:TPI

These albums either marked a change in musical direction in my life or were ones I played like 500 times.
Even I was offended by what I was going to put here.
Newest Release, retro EBM, Brute Opposition - Unity of Command, released Sept '22 bandcamp link

So, after many years, these are the albums that still make my playlist:

All Gabriel ERA Genesis (except Trespass and FGTR)
10cc - Original Soundtrack
Tower or Power - Urban Renewal
KC - Larks Tongue
YES - The YES Album
Pink Floyd - Dark Side and The Wall
XTC - Black Sea
Beatles (from Rubber Soul on)
Mahavishnu Orchestra - Inner Mounting Flame
Led Zep - First Album
ELP - Tarkus

I know that music is very personal but I just find the musicianship on these albums to be TOP NOTCH as well as SOUNDS GOOD.

Surely this has to be up there...

Changing Everything: What Birds Dream (Remixed)

It's great you know. Trust me. :)

That and anything by Orbital. Mezzanine by Massive Attack has to be up there too, along with Protection.

It's hard to describe how good this album is, hyuk hyuk!

Eh?

Are You Shpongled? and Nothing Lasts... wipe the floor with Tales, IMHO. Don't get me wrong here, Tales is not a bad album at all, I just find it a bit odd that people almost everywhere prefer it over the other two albums

Are You Shpongled? is simply a legend.
We may all be of one consciousness, but subjectivity does figure into the bargain. :D

Ooh, forgot about that one, played it to death at the time. Particularly like that they had the chords of the songs on the lyric sheet, so I could strum along.

Probably a neat marketing trick, getting people well and truly behind your songs.
