Thanks for the update, Bulent. I can't really test this version well, it's very unstable on my system, especially the VST version. But I did manage to get the Standalone working for a while, the reverb sounds great now!
Can't wait until a more stable version is available, I feel the itch to create a whole bunch of new sounds with this!

Hi everyone,
I'm glad to announce a new build Party!
1. NEW: Users can now move all SynthMaster files (except the exe/dlls) to a folder other then the one the dll/exes reside, by specifying the new folder name in SynthMasterFolders.txt
2. NEW: Distortion effect re-written: Added pre/post 2 band EQ, user drawable distortion curve, attack/decay controls for bias.
3. NEW: Changed the download mechanism on the kv331audio.com web site: This might cause some delays (around 5-10 seconds depending on the server load) while downloading the latest update.
4. FIX: Dropdown controls should cancel selection when user closes the dropdown without making any selection
5. FIX: Slope parameter changes in the opposite direction for multisegment envelope editor control.
6. FIX: For distortion view control, the y coordinate of the first point can not be edited.
7. FIX: A lot of fixes for the GUI Editor.
Cheers!

If i read all the new features, and compare this to the feature-list of the first 2.0 beta(august 2009) i really wonder how big and mighty sm2 will be next year

Coming with build 8Cyforce wrote:Preview-screenshot?
1. It'll have 2 band EQ on the feedback loop.
2. It'll have distortion on the feedback loop
3. The distortion curve will again be user drawable!
Also for the audio input enhancements: since "audio in" oscillators require MIDI input to be triggered, we'll add a "trigger note" parameter that automatically sends a MIDI Note On message to the engine when playback starts.
This way the FX (VST) and Standalone versions of SynthMaster wont require active Midi input for the audio input to be passed through the filters/fx sections.

That's a cool workaround, thanks!
When will you finalize the features for 2.1?

If I have enough time, by the end of the week.rectus_dominus wrote:That's a cool workaround, thanks!
When will you finalize the features for 2.1?
Remaining improvements:
1) Audio input improvements (trigger note, bandpass filter for envelope detector)
2) EQ & distortion added to Delay effect
3) EQ & maybe distortion added to Ensemble effect
4) UI improvements for MIDI controller assignments
Once the above 4 are finished (or at least the first 2) I can safely say we're "beta"!

The sound itself is exciting, too.
What gritty reece required 5mins and 8 modules on my Reason demo, now can be done in 2mins with just one synthmaster. Thanks for the massive distortion!

Time to update the general KVR community on our recent developments.
We finally have a new build, alpha #8:
1. NEW: EQ & Filter display control improvements: Now you can edit parameters from the display, such as cutoff, gain, resonance, slope, mode:

2. NEW: Added "stereo width" parameter for Delay, Chorus and Ensemble effects
3. NEW: Added distortion & 2 band EQ to the Delay effect:

4. NEW: Added distortion & 2 band EQ to the ensemble effect

5. FIX: Ensemble effect settings are not saved when preset is saved.
6. FIX: SynthMaster was loading all images from all skins at startup, which increased RAM usage terribly. Now the images are loaded only when needed.
BTW, we will be increasing our version number to 2.5, as we had many changes since 2.0, and still there are some important ones we will be adding this summer...
Another reason for why we'll jump to version 2.5: If everything goes well, we will be releasing SynthMaster VST/VSTi for Mac OSX as well in our official release (expected to be in September), yes let's hope that the port would be easy and we can be on the OSX platform as well

Yes! The eq has 2 bands, which are 6db/oct shelve or cut. The EQ is in the feedback loop btw, which makes it coolerCyforce wrote:The delay has an own eq and distortion-modul?![]()

EDIT: Ensemble FX has also a similar 2 band EQ in the feedback loop as well.
