That is being further developed and will be useful for exactly the opposite reason of multitiouch - it frees you from contact with the screen. That will be much more useful in time to come. Touch technology is everywhere, has been for years. Its multi touch that dosnt cut the mustard.

A wii remote like thing would be silly in a handheld device.
Still it uses some accelerometers and the like for some functions. (like smartphones)

I dont know about a camera like Project Natal from MS, but it looks seems to me that a multi touch screen still a better option. (your hands would cover all the vision you have from the screen) Or a hibrid soluction, but that need some raw power, not possible today.

But those are good soluctions for the desktop, IMO.

That's absolute bullshit. PC "Tablets" use a Wacom digitizer. It's specifically designed for precision use. The reason the market never developed is because the damn things are expensive so you have to really need one to invest in one.

Even the cheap one is $1000. iPads are not in the same league.

You are never going to do something like this with your big fat finger. BTW thats $2000 dollars worth of Wacom Cintiq 21UX.

Apparently you missed the point. :)
