Sure, just edit (double-click) your local tag and delete its text - this deletes the tag.hakey wrote:Is there anyway for me to remove one of my local tags from the categories list? I have both 'bell' and 'bells', so one of them is redundant.

That's where tagging comes in. So start tagging stuff or wait until someone else tags them.swampmonster50 wrote:its like finding a needle in a haystack
Tip: there's a favorite tag to tag the sounds you DO like (a lot).

hi crimson... im more interested in making music than taggin presets.... even if i did tag them all, and clicked the bass tab.... i would have hundreds of bass presets i would never use.....
id like to use zen as a manager for my own presets. any chance we can have an option to set the databass to always off?... we need to go online so we can update zen with the new plugins, but by going online, it automatically starts downloading presets from the databass. and there is no way to delete them.....this is really frustrating for me

What you can do, is desactivate all your plugins, then go online. Zen will update the list of available plugins, but won't download anything.

Hi Tick,
Any chance if getting Cakewalks Dimension Pro included? I'm forever trying to find stuff in there!
Cheers

Technically, yes, but I would need permission from Cakewalk to put the factory presets online. If you know how to contact them, feel free to do so. They never replied to my email

One question:
When I choose a sound via the search box (say I choose Synth1 and type in 'funk' and choose the preset "funk lead 1", then I save my project and reload it, the chosen preset is still there (ie sounding correct) but no longer highlighted in the right column which means I'm not able to bring up the Synth1 GUI for tweaking.
Only if I type "funk" in the search box again, I see my highlighted preset again.
Is this normal or am I doing something wrong (just started using Zen).
I'm using Reaper 32bit btw.

No, this is normal. I'll have to save the search text too, and restore it when loading a project. Also, I'll add dbl-click on the name in the bottom right, so that you can still open your editor even when the currently selected preset is not in the displayed list.

Thanks.
dbl-click on the name is a good idea imo, looking forward to the update.
And another idea:
How about a function (could be rightclick on preset list name) or a button: "show current preset" ?
Could be handy if you've chosen one preset you like but change preset pages to see what else is available to quickly revert to the current preset.

Good idea, but not so easy to do since the page on which the preset was might have changed - maybe it was on page 4 when you selected it, but if new presets have arrived in between, or tags have changed, the search might yield different results altogether.

I've seen no mention here of creating preset banks.... is anybody trying to use zen for live performance?
Because, all the nice database stuff aside, a sub-host that can load presets from different vst's is a real boon for live use. WusikVM looked promising, but crashes in both my hosts, so that's not an option. I bought kore hoping for this, but it has no support for program changes via the host.
I'd like to be able to save the results of a search as a bank and select the programs from it with a vst program change. I'd also like it to expose the list of names to my host.
This may well all be possible, but I haven't figured out how.
Also, I have to say the interface is lovely, but minimal to the point of being cryptic.... and I really miss a menu, which besides being readable, serves as a 'table of contents' for an application, giving a good overview of its capabilities, even if you stop using it after you learn what all the icons mean.
