No external chorus but you can use the chorus effect built-in the synth.

The idea is make a song only with that synth, and see all the capabilities about that synth can do.

Where is your track, man?

Post

How about delay and reverb?

Post

You can use free reverbs and free delay effects, provided they don't change the natural sound of the synthesizer.

IrionDaRonin, I will be uploading tonight most likely.

OK, so I've put up my track:

Vivolator - Shut the door

24 instances of Free Alpha

FX used:

ReaEQ
KA Classic Delay
Freeverb Too

Master Buss FX:

ReaFir
C3 Multiband compressor
W1 Limiter

Just a simple stupid pop tune, but I did end up writing lyrics for it after the fact, so I might put a version with vocals up on my Soundcloud page eventually...

Nice Elipsis, did you change anything in your new track? Or it's the same old?

Post

Hey, so can we upload an AAC file or no?

Host: Ableton Live
Instances of Free Alpha: 25
Free Effects Used: Epic Verb by Variety of Sound, Camel Crusher for Tube Warmth/Slight compression on the Master Bus, Bionic Delay, and Ferric TDS

The Snare high end was from a patch from Matt's Free Alpha 3 bank, and a modified factory preset.

Track breakdown: (34 Tracks Total)

1) Bass Group

5 instances of Free Alpha. 2 sets panned L/R and slight track delay to widen the stereo field.

Live's EQ8 was used on this group.

2) Drum Group

5 instances of Free Alpha. 2 kicks, 2 snares and a semi-hat patch.

One snare had Ferric TDS and Bionic Delay.
The Hat patch had Bionic Delay.

3) Main Lead Group

2 instances of Free Alpha, same patch, panned L/R and one track was delayed to widen the stereo field.

4) "Barkers" Group

2 instances of Free Alpha, the same patch, with different LFO Rates

5) Pads Group

8 instances of Free Alpha, some panning automation.

6) Track 28

1 instance of Free alpha, Bionic Delay

7) Sweep

Sweep effect (1 instance of Free Alpha) FX send to Epic Verb.

8) Bass Effects

(ok, apparently an 8 followed by a parenthesis gives you a smiley)

One instance of free alpha for some bass effects at the very beginning of the track, FX send heavy to Epic Verb

9) Busses

Bass Bus: Live's EQ8
Drums Bus: Live's EQ8, Ferric TDS
Instrument Bus: Live's EQ8
Lead Bus: Live's EQ8
Effect Bus: Epic Verb

10) Master Bus:

Two instances of Live's EQ-8, Camel Audio's Camel Crusher (Free Plugin) used for some tube warmth/slight compression.

Well I hope you enjoy my track, I worked hard on it. It may not be your style, but hopefully it will grow on you and I'll get some votes!

Good Luck to everyone! Peace be with you all...

Good stuff, especially the barking and gritty stuff. The whole oscillator symmetry seems to be a very under-appreciated feature of Alpha, so I'm glad to see you highlight it. Nice work!

Here's my first entry for this month:

Doc Jon - Dirty Weekend in Blackpool

Host - Cubase 6
18 instances of Free Alpha
Effects - Kjaerhus Compressor, Limiter, Delay and Reverb

A short fun piece which seemed like a good idea when I started it, seemed less of a good idea while I was doing it, got a bit cheesy, and thankfully ended fairly quickly - hence the title!!

Snare and hi-hat sounds created by using the noise setting in the LFO section and routing this at max frequency into the mod matrix at max settings affecting Osc 1 and 2 symmetry which gave a very usable noise source with which to build the percussion patches

Sounds in order of appearance

1 ) Blip hi-hat -> host EQ, compressor -> reverb
2 ) Seq patch -> delay -> reverb
3 ) Analog kick -> host EQ, compressor
4 ) Kick ambience
5 ) Squelch snare -> reverb
6 ) Snare ambience -> reverb
7 ) Bass -> host EQ, compressor
8 ) Analog hi-hat -> host EQ -> reverb
9 ) Open hi-hat -> host EQ -> reverb
10 ) Analog snare -> host EQ, compressor, reverb
11 ) and 12 ) Octave solina panned L+R -> delay, reverb
13 ) Organ -> delay -> reverb
14 ) Burble -> reverb
15 ) Seq2 patch -> delay -> reverb
16 ) and 17 ) Swoop panned L+R -> reverb
18 ) E piano -> host EQ, compressor, compressor -> reverb
Master buss routed through EQ and limiter

Enjoy!

Hope to get my second entry up later tonight or tomorrow

Here's the other entry for this month

Doc Jon - Last Voyage of The Thetis

Host - Cubase 6
22 instances of Free Alpha
Effects - Kjaerhus compressor, limiter, EQ, delay, reverb

Percussion and drum sounds produced and processed as with my other track

E piano and chorus bass sounds heavily compressed and EQ'd to remove the rather heavy bottom end

Sonar and morse code noises fed through light reverb only

All the other tracks are various plucks, pads and burbles fed through fairly thick delay and reverb

Master buss fed through further EQ and limiter

That's it for this month until voting time, must say there's some great tracks up already so expecting some stiff competition!
