Cheers, it works in Reaper if I bring up the wave selection parameter envelope manually and edit the curve, but it won't write the wave change by clicking in the drop down as you can in Nuendo for some reason.
Like you say, Cabeleguys have gone to town and it seems let every single parameter be automatable, but I wonder if LFO Tool has got a better system where the major things can be changed on the fly with simple note on/off messages which is of course great for live use as well.

I don't know how many other hosts have this, but reaper allows you to map any plugins' parameter to any other plugins' parameter to modulate it.

It would be very nice to have the actual y-value output of each Source as a read-only parameter in the list. This would make it very easy to modulate parameters in reaper without having to use the ReaControlPath work-around.

Boy: I'm curious to see what the CableGuys are cooking up!
BTW, about:

If something is done along these lines it might be a good idea to include a "smoothing" control that introduces a variable delay in the speed the CC moves to a new sample level in order to generate smooth random control changes rather than only sudden sharp random ones.Breeze wrote:Another thing I would find useful with the Noise option is to use it with a S/H "circuit" that offers the same synced/time control over sample time as the LFOs have.

Another slight bug I've found is having trouble placing a point exactly at y=0. It seems to skip from -0.01 to 0.01. This may seem unimportant, but I was controlling pitch in another plugin and couldn't get a 0 point.

One way:
- add a Patcher instance
- inside Patcher, add MidiShaper and your synth
- link FLS MIDI to MidiShaper MIDI in, link MidiShaper MIDI out to synth MIDI in
- set MIDI input/output ports of MidiShaper to some value (e.g. 0)
- set synth MIDI input port to the same value

Me too. I figure they're either deep within their underground lab cooking up dramatic new improvements, or sitting on the Riviera getting their tushes toasted...jonahs wrote:Still, I'm ready to preorder.

Using sonar 8.5 and I can't get it to work at all. I have tried adding it as an effect and a synth. when you add it as a synth, the midi output is always greyed out?
Has anyone gotten this to work with sonar?

Actually we were adding mono mode/legato and glide to Curve. Only little sun in Berlin these weeks, so lots of time to spend working.Breeze wrote:Me too. Also we worked on texts for MidiShaper, and on some underlying code, and are currently preparing our website to add MidiShaper. We'll post the next beta later today.

Thanks for the suggestion! Yes, I think we'll implement something like this (it also gets requested a lot for FilterShaper, VolumeShaper and PanCake, so chances are good).swivel wrote:This plugin is great, perfect for adding subtle modulation to VST's, I will be buying it when it comes out.
I have a suggestion and a bug:
Suggestion: I would love to see a trace (vertical line) or a cursor move over the curve so that I can see where and how fast the modulation is happening. FAW Circle VSTi had something like that.
I am currently having a look at this. Thanks for posting!swivel wrote:Bug(?): in reaper, with MidiShaper in Beat Sync mode I don't get any plugin output until I either play a midi note from an external keyboard on the track or drop some notes into a midi clip on the track. However if I use the "Teach Midi CC' feature I do get output without doing this.
To reiterate, I drop an audio clip on a track in reaper, add a VST that can be controlled by midi controllers and try to modulate one of its parameters with Midishaper. It works in 'Teach Midi CC' mode, but not in normal mode, say Beat Sync. To get it to work with "Teach Midi CC" off I have to play a midi note on the track.

Yes, there's lots of stuff which can be added in this field. The toughest thing will be to do this while keeping the interface simple to use.Breeze wrote:However, if the devs wanted, they could not only allow us to select individual waves by user-definable notes but also to trigger individual LFO one-shots or envelopes via same. That could be very cool. They could also map intensity to velocity, allow for wave morphing on selection, use modulation for wave morphing, or map modulation to wave morphing time... someone stop me!

Actually that's something we hope to do with Curve at one point. So MidiShaper could benefit from this and get it then, too.Breeze wrote:The only weak issue I see is that it would be nice to have morphing between two preset waves and control over the time it takes to Morph.
Good idea!Breeze wrote:Another thing I would find useful with the Noise option is to use it with a S/H "circuit" that offers the same synced/time control over sample time as the LFOs have.

Interesting. The downside is that sending parameters puts some hosts under lots of stress (for example they create undo history for this), so doing this at audio rate could freak them out. But doing it optionally could be an idea.swivel wrote:It would be very nice to have the actual y-value output of each Source as a read-only parameter in the list.
