I usually go between Schwa Oligarc Phaser and NI's Phasis. Oligarc is effin brutal, Phasis is just so flexible.

Is there any worthy Smallstone alternative to the ArtsAcoustic yet?

Soundtoys PhaseMistress is a Smallstone "inspired by", I think.

I’ve got phasers from Ni, IK,Waves, Eventide and Soundtoys.
But the best effect, in my opinion, comes from the little vst ”footpedal” by Nembrini.
EK Phazevibe (pedal version) designed with Eddie Kramer is great. I like this one better than its big brother rack version.
Its a one trick pony, but very tasty.

I own or have demo'd pretty much everything mentioned in here. My absolute favorite is still Fazortan2 from D16, and by a long mile, too.

Too many phaser just sound like a filter sweep with same flat, generic 'phasing' sound to it, but no real character to the sound.

Fazortan2, otoh, is absolutely rich with character. And to the guy asking about a replacement for AAR smallstone, just check out the small stones presets on Fazortan2 -- they nail it.

Has the Arturia already been mentioned?

Steinberg has a great version of this in the stomp collection. I mostly end up using that although I have quite a few phasers.

Those are my two favorites, though I’ll throw in Arturia’s BI-TRON as well.

i think this just came up recently? i like Uhbik-P and the ones that are in Guitar Rig.
way back my favorites were custom a modifried Mutron II and a similar Small Stone. i never has an InstaPhaser or an A/DA Final Phase though. i also used to make monster phase shifters in Reaktor. Mostly it's Uhbik-P (the awesome beta upgrades

Uhbik P is fiiiineeeee, easily my most used phaser.
Set mix to 100, rate to “manual”, offset to +50 == instant stereo.
Or to make kicks juicier
Also melda Mphaser!

Don´t forget the frequency shifters. Just saying.

My choice would be softube's and Arturia's.

I saw Reason's Sweeper mentioned a few times. For non-Reason users, what plugin is the closest?

To make dem wiked sounds. ;)

Well, a lot of electronic genres incorporate phaser sounds. Ambient, Chillout, Trance, Techno... you name it. Lot of phasers on guitar in non-electronic genres as well (although I got educated here once that even The Beatles do electronic music (ugh...)).
but it's a lesson youve never forgot! :tu:

I use phasers very often and love this effect.
The Bi-Tron from Arturia is really good. The Fixphaser from Softube is also very good, sometimes on sale for little money. There are already some good phasers, but if you are looking for the well-known Smallstone sound, it is difficult and you often end up with the Bigrock again (it simply does this sound IMO the best).

The last time I asked you which version of the Small Stone you exactly compared Bigrock to, you did not answer me.
