Incidentally - the basses in this thing are the most potent, table-shaking things I've ever heard in a synth. My table literally shook. And I was wearing headphones. Quite impressive...

...but a shame that the GUI might as well be written in Inuit for me. Coming from a very old-school (modular synth / retro) background, I find it baffuddling.
Anger is a sublimated desire for control.

I foresee a great future for this one :)

Given the features, I expected a lot more from the presets that really show what this thing can do, especially in regards to resynthesis etc.

Anyway, I'll dig into it a bit more later. I'm sure this synth is capable of some very cool things, it's just a pity the preset designers didn't explore this better.
There are now 14 tracks on the site. http://www.image-line.com/documents/harmor.html

How about you post some links to demo music you think is good? We are always interested to learn what people think is cool. Hard to guess for a global market that's got completely fragmented music tastes.

We'll have some tutorials up soon, that should help.

There's nothing wrong with the demos you have already, surely people can see the synths capability from those demos and also trying the demo for themselves.
The synth looks and sounds great IMO and that's all that matters.

It has been released (today) along with the FL update. It's the same, you get both versions when you buy it.

Anybody managed to get proper detune of +5 semi and +7 semi between Part A and B?
the detuning selector shows a ratio, so it's actually easier to achieve those, and precisely, not approximations like with semitones. Try 2/3 or 4/3 for example. And then you can still add some more decimals for the slight detuning you'd get with semitones.
In other words: when you layer a +7semitones osc, you're actually doing an approximation of "3/2". In Harmor select 3/2, it will sound perfect, and add some decimals if you wanna get some fluctuations.

But try the harmonizer, it allows similar effects using the same part.

They will be included in a future update. Mehran was out of town when we launched.

Out of curiosity, i've read somewhere some very good news about the additive resynthesizer engine of harmor, any specific info ?
...being mac based i cannot check a demo yet !

______

{edited}...listening to the demo, especially the 3rd one (fuego96) in where i'm wondering at which degree it is due to harmor ?

...i assume that the guitar strumming are harmor's resynthesised datas (very impressive and realistic rendering of the string's attacks IMO), what about other instruments ?

:)

never mind, i just needed to take the time to read some other related thread on that forum !

Here is really interesting and non-geeky read about additive basics:

The demo songs are quite amazing in my opinion.
Especially the first song.
My question is if all of these were done exclusively with Harmor (except maybe the drums) or were other effects/instruments used.
Also, what are the effects that are possible to do with Harmor? I hear a lot of reverb and delay in the demo songs. Were these done in Harmor?
Are the controls of Harmor MIDI learnable?
Thanks.

A very intriguing synth, definitively unique. I have not the slightest idea yet of what's going on, but so far I haven't really dug into the demo. A better preset browser would have been nice, but NOT the unbearable preset browser that Maxx' plugins use, of course. And most of the presets didn't really impress me to be honest. I would have loved to see more real gems in there that show off the power of this synth.

I can't get the visual spectrum display to appear in Reaper x64 with the native x64 bridge. It seems that the plugin doesn't report to the host when it resizes or so. I tested it with the demo of jbridge and at least there the spectral display appears. But in both the native bridge and jbridge the gui sometimes doesn't redraw itself properly. I would wish for a native x64 version to circumvent those issues, but we all know what IL has to say about that. This is really holding me back from buying it: a potentially awesome synth stuck in x86 land forever. I wouldn't care much if it worked in bridged mode, but this way it's only a "maybe" for me :-(

I think the interface is a bit hard to get your head around - it is not really like most additive or synthetic interfaces and stuff is rather crammed in - breaking it down section by section as it does in the manual helps a bit though
