Congratulations to Andre van Haren, EdC, Taotekid/Eric M., amadeusrecords/Tomek and ToneCarver and everyone who entered the Customer Demo Contest.
It was very tough to choose "winners" for this contest -- I wanted to award everyone! It was a struggle to narrow down the choices. Our main criteria was to find Customer Demos that we felt were both well done and good representations of the Kirk Hunter Studios libraries used. Consequently, if you're entry wasn't selected in that list, please be aware that I/we may have loved your piece, but we were mainly going after "demos" that best displayed the KHS libraries used.
So, let me just call out just two of my personal favorite entries that were not on the above list: Peh Kong Wee's very beautiful "Lost Autumn" and pedroseq's "Riding Toward Freedom," which is right out of a American Western (wild west) movie.
Just one final point. Going through all of the submissions, I was really impressed by how spread out we all are. Even of the five people selected, no two winners are from the same country; they are from Holland, Italy, France, Poland and the US.

Hi,
Congratulations to all the winners! Great "demos", indeed! You all represented a fearsome competition, no doubt! Keep up the good work!!
@eDrummist
I thank you for the kind words about my entry, and I think that the choices you and Kirk made are completely fair, given the contest's objectives! I must say that this was the first time I showed my work publicly. So, it was fun and a good experience, and I'll keep perfecting my work until the next opportunity appears!
Once again, congratulations to all the winners!!
Best regards,
Pedro

Pedro, I really like your composition. Movie soundtrack quality.pedroseq wrote:Hello all!
My first post here at KVR! And what a good way to start posting! This is my entry for the KHS Demo contest, an original work made just for this contest:

It's in a western/soundtrack style and it uses only strings (from Ruby) and brass (from CBII), in order to show the potential of these wonderful samples. I must say it was a pleasure to orquestrate this track using CBII and Ruby. The samples are so lively, that they inspired me to compose it! It took me 2 weeks to finish it. I didn't do any EQing/tweaking with the samples. I just used them out-of-the-box, with the included reverbs. I hope everyone enjoys listening to it!
I also enjoyed listening to all other entries. There's some serious competition around here! Good luck to all!!
Best regards,
Pedro

Thank you so much for your kind words! By curiosity, I went to your website and heard some of your works. I think they are really great! I enjoyed them very much. Keep up the good work you're doing!rschletty wrote:Pedro, I really like your composition. Movie soundtrack quality.

Thanks for your kind words, Pedro. I am all over the map stylistically (due to a lot of collaborating) but I hope to focus in on a signature sound soon. Right now, I'm mostly trying to improve my realtime nylon guitar playing and singing - in church at the 11:30 Mass! I am going to do a Christmas album this year with André van Haren. We are working on track 1 right now - "Sleep, Baby, Sleep." It's an original song that my brother dreamt!pedroseq wrote:Thank you so much for your kind words! From what I could hear in your works, your guitar playing is already great!rschletty wrote: Thanks for your kind words, Pedro. That seems quite a wonderful project to work on! André van Haren composed some awesome music pieces for this contest, so I think it's going to be a great addition to your album. I wish you the best of lucks for this project! Your brother should continue to dream with music. It's good for a composer's health!rschletty wrote: I am going to do a Christmas album this year with André van Haren. We are working on track 1 right now - "Sleep, Baby, Sleep."
