WTF people? This thing's barely out of beta and we're clamoring for new filter models?

the 101 is my fave synth ever, and i just cant get Diva to 'bounce' like the 101 did, especially for fast seq basslines, its like the sound was a really deep twangy band, but not flabby...it was tight....my memory may be playing tricks on me, but those are the sounds i remember and love.ghettosynth wrote: SH101 is just a CEM3340->IR3109. To the best of my knowledge, other than the MC-202, no other Roland SH series has a CEM VCO. Some of the MKS-80s do and I may be overlooking a couple of others, but, for the most part, the SH series stuff, like the System 100, was all some variant of roland diode ladder filters or BA662 based filters (like the IR3109). So, if they're all similar (as you say), and the Juno is covered, you can pretty much get close to the SH101 with one of the analog oscillators and the Juno filter.

Regardless of whether it will ever be implemented in Diva, I fully agree with Kriminal here. My SH101 has given up on me, but there's something about that sound that is strong, focussed and funky that I can't seem to get elsewhere.
Last time I used my Virus b (rarely use it anymore), it reminded me a bit of that sound, when using a simple saw with the filter resonance somewhere 10 past 12, and then a nice sweep with the cutoff. Not the exact same thing, but the same feeling none the less. Can't seem to get that with most software.
Well, I too have hopes that Lush101 will come available one day and blow us all off our socks.

My first synth was an sh101, I'd love to see that in Diva. I make patches from Trilian's sh101 waveforms a lot.

I would like an emulation of the MS-20 that has the features and waveforms of the Virus Ti. A true analog Virus Ti would be amazing. Maybe a true analog version of the JP 8000.

Just out of Beta and stirring up trouble from sunrise to sunset
Diva's the right name

The resonance on the SH-101 filter was also rather divine.

What do you mean by that? Because, again, the SH101 filter is just the IR3109 filter. It really is pretty much the same filter that's in the Juno 6/60, and for all intents and purposes, the Juno106 and quite a few others.Phase47 wrote:The resonance on the SH-101 filter was also rather divine.
I like the filter, a lot, and I have one in my modular, but seriously, it's character is really defined by the BA662. It does overdrive nicely and there may certainly be some level differences among the synths, but they'll be second order effects.
The EG is a nice little discrete circuit that may have some character on its own, but it never jumped out at me like the mini EGs do.

About CEM, is the filter part of the CEM3372 the same as the 3320 (or other)? 3372 was used in the Rhodes Chroma Polaris, and still like that one very much since I heard it somewhere around 1984 (yeah, that long ago, at the same show I first heard the PPG Wave 2.3- or maybe 2.2? - but it had the Waveterm and processor keyboard. Sadly couldn't afford them then, just a Synton Syrinx, also blue... - how time changes). But could have been the VCO's as well that 'made' the Polaris sound. Anyway, would like to have that sound in Diva (also wouldn't mind for another VA though).klinik wrote:Roland system 100 (not 100m, those are different filters) are one of my faves.
I've had almost all the vintage analogs out there, and certainly each filter have his own signature, even in synths sharing the same IC (i.e CEM 3320).
-The OB8 is a great one but I like the Synthex one better.
-About diodes that sytem100 or a VCS3 filter would be wonderfull.
-The Roland and Korg flavours are covered
-Regarding transistor ladder, try the moog modular filter, is not the same as the minimoog, different character and great sound!
-CS80 filter have its own signature too.
-Finally, a SSM2040 emulation will be great. The best would be a prophet5 emulation, but for the rev.2(SSM) not rev.3(CEM)
-For completing the lot, what about a steiner-parker filter? amazing having attenuators for the LP-BP-HP inputs(!)
AND please, add audio inputs so we can use the wonderfull diva filters with external signals!!!

Isn't that covered already by OPX-II PRO? Maybe not with the depth of modelling you're refering to, but would you hear that in a mix?digitalboytn wrote: I want to get a JP8 and an OB8 together as co-joined twins...
That's never really been possible before...
Well - not with this depth of modelling anyway...
I would opt for alternatives.
