Thanks Xavier! I definitely don't mind they are not 100% compatable, it gets me a far way closer to creating some interesting patches and that is a huge plus
ill download it once I can get to my daw.

I don't know, I don't think I'm really in possession of the attention span for something like Reaktorvurt wrote:just get reaktor, you know it makes sense

Xavier and aMUSEd, I finally got the new version installed and its great, all the presets play at least with the matrix settings intact and many usable presets are there for the tweaking
All the sorts of synth sound effects that are closest to my heart are there
So I have a question: is there any way to get a tempo-synced LFO effect with this? It is not a necessity just I want to see if I can control it a bit more in certain situations. Thanks!

Amen to that!electro wrote:A general rule for soundesigners.
Build you patches in the lower versions which are usually forward compatible with the higher versions.
I made my Xils 3 bank using the LE version. If I'd have bought the full version and used that, all the people that got the LE version in the No-Brainer would not have been able to use it or it may not have sounded right.

I guess that works if your aim is sound designing - for me though creating presets is a by product of playing a synth so I will usually be using the more powerful version. Also it's a bit different with the NI synths as they didn't introduce any new features, just a change in format to accommodate Maschine users and frustrate everyone else, so using the earlier version implies no loss of power.Xenos wrote:Amen to that!electro wrote:A general rule for soundesigners.

Lesson learned...when NI Massive switched over to a new patch format, I kept my old copy so I could also offer the KSD format for those that need it for Kore compatibility.

I have a problem: after buying XILS 3 LE I received an email with a license number. Now, after instalation and when starting it, a serial number was required; I placed the License number and the options were a)get a new serial b)Purchase. A bit puzzled but clicked get a new serial, and it opened a page requiring the old serial; I introduced the provided license number (email) and got the message 'Old serial number invalid !'
Am I missing something?

You don't click a button, you enter the serial and press 'return' I do believe. The buttons are for if you have no serial number.Ja.x wrote:I have a problem: after buying XILS 3 LE I received an email with a license number. Dont worry my Gladiator bank is probably my best "worst selling", even if its compatible with version 1 and 2aMUSEd wrote:I guess that works if your aim is sound designing - for me thought creating presets is a by product of playing a synth so I will usually be using the more powerful version. As for the Xils 3/Xils 3 LE thing, my perception is that all is possible if its clearly mentioned in the banks page ( on wich uversion it has been made, and for wich people it is intended ) : I made a huge soundbank for the XILS 3, and I will make another totally different one for the XIls3 LE asap.
Though I'm happy that the patches of the Xils3 can now be imported in the LE version by stripping irrelevant data, I will certainly NOT encourage any users to buy the Xilistic soundset for XIls3 if they just have the LE version. My soundbank makes heavy/massive usage of all the additional features of the full version, like the second Matrix, the different envelopes, all the additonal connexions etc. It therefore makes very few sense to purchase it for owners of the LE version : Patches will sound totally different ! ( it would of course be different for a generous freeware soundbank as Stephen glorious one )

Nope. Just pressing [Return] it keeps asking for the serialbraj wrote:You don't click a button, you enter the serial and press 'return' I do believe. Liking this synth, great price and purchase!
Steep learning curve, but I'm getting there...
I like the way the 3 pole filter is very noisy and a bit gritty, and I love synths with glissando! It can be really haunting on leads with a bit of delay.

If you bought it with other resellers, you need to redeem the code your received
(This automatically register your product for further support).
redeem
You will then receive the serial.
I should now remove this "old serial" exchange button. This is for the very old no brainer version users (before 1.0.7) who need to get a new serial , so almost no needed any more.
Best regards
Xavier

Thanks. In fact I had already done that, but as I bought some other products at the same time I got lost in the middle of all those emails

Yeah, this synth really rewards exploration, I love the mod matrix systemSendy wrote:Liking this synth, great price and purchase!

Xavier, one huge feature request from me it for mouse-wheel control of knobs, especially since some are small this would help a lot. Maybe for a change from other plugins using this feature make the default the fine control, with a gross control requiring a modifier like alt.
This is definitely one of my favorite synths now and I hope Xils Labs releases more serial-number protected plugins
(OK, just bought it, a definite no-brainer too!)
