The strange thing is that Junglist is... the CM version (look the about box).

I tried zilions web browsers and download managers. :nutter:
Sad that so many seems to have download problems. But the zip file came down with the speed of lightning here though, so it is difficult to say what the problem could be?
I had no problems either. In fact, I wanted to see if was just a temporary thing and downloaded it a second time with a different email, again, no problems.

I noticed that whatever "zippy" link was provided was deleted. Good! You cannot distribute that way, it's a copyright violation. I have a suggestion that I believe is not a copyright violation.

I don't think that there's anything illegal about having someone else perform "your download" and sending you "your file." Each link is unique, however, and can only be used once (or at the very least, they expire after some time), so you have to start with a fresh link.

So, if you forward your email with a fresh link to someone who can successfully download, that person could perform your download, and send you the file back.

At the very least, a few downloads like this would help to narrow down whether the problem is with particular links, or is somehow connection related.

I also noticed that, must be some licencing deal, or does Future Publishing own Falkemedia (as they publish the german version of Mac Life)?

Trying out Dune now. I had no idea my computer could sound so analog or hardware without samples. CPU use is very low. The only limitation is no effects?

IDM seems like more hassle than the FF downloader. FF also remembers which sites go into which folders. Disabling IDM in FF didn't stop it. I closed FF and went to uninstall IDM and found out it was still running. The uninstall brought my computer to its knees and took a while. It then told me to restart, as my internet protocol settings had been changed :?:

Second time that BEAT pisses me off within two days.

First I have to shell out friggin 10 bucks to get the Synth Special magazine (which is shit btw, only got it because of Dune LE and an update of Waldorf LE).

Then suddenly, on KVR there is the link shared for the Waldorf LE collection shared.

And now the link to the Beat Studio Starter Kit. Where Dune BE is included.

So I shelled out money for nothing. Or better said, I paid for EVERYONE ELSE. I mean, the distributor doesn't even give out links to updates of BE editions, you need to buy the darn magazine all over again. Or be lucky to find a "free link".

God am I pissed right now.
Another good reason to not subscribe to the magazine anymore. 90% of the concent is a DVD print of "free available sample content" (demo stuff) anyway!

But didn't you get Xils-Lab 3, Firebird+ and Z3TA+ with the mag? Those have not been handed out for free, and no to forget the 100 page mag with many articles that looks interesting.

Too bad I flunked in german at school :D

Post

First and foremost, that magazine is sh*t. It only gives info about synths "not" related to the bundled DVD (Propellerheads, NI, KORG, Arturia). The "bundled synths" are handled through one page each.

Then, I do have ZETA+ already, as boxed version. Early adopter. Same with the Waldorf Edition - I only got an elder (read 1,5 year old) mag to stay up to date. XILS LAB 3 is also a limited Edition, so is Firebird and both don't really interest me. Bazille is time-locked (as was Papen Predator back in the day, only that this one was locked to 2 months full version, then it stopped working completely).

80% of the bundled sample content can be found for free, the rest is the same washed up stuff from the last 2 years.

There is no thing that can adjust the arrogance of that distributor compared to the paying readers. I certainly feel scammed right now.

It's only 10 bucks or so the magazine cost, if you feel scammed by this, you've lived a pretty easy life so far
