Yea. The piano here is bone dry and very close miked and very present.
afm > you must have something else going on in your playback system if you're hearing any reverb at all on the piano.
If something is too quiet, even after turning it up, then turn everything else down and turn up your master output.

Hello,
I purchased Diamond about a week and a half ago and have found a problem with the trills. In any of the instruments contained in the _TVEC_3.1 or _TVEC_4_Diamond_Instruments folders, the half step and whole step trills are all mixed up. If I select Half Trills, I can hear half trills on some notes but whole trills on others. If I go “under the hood”, I can see it selecting the wrong key groups, so it isn’t my ear; it really is doing this. This also happens if I select Whole Trills. I can hear this same problem if Kontakt is running stand alone or a plug-in within Bidule.
I am running version 5.5.1.451 of Kontakt on a 2.6 GHz, core i7, 2012 MacBook Pro running OS 10.8.5 with 16.GB of ram.
Help!

I’ve found another issue concerning IntervaLive. The Solo Brass Instruments have a problem in the downward pitch bend direction (upward is OK). Instead of a downward short transitional notes, the transitional notes sustain as long as I keep the pitch wheel down. They will even allow the playing sample through if I move the wheel back down from center position. It will do this until the stuck samples play to their ends. This occurs on the Tuba and the a and b versions of the Solo French Horn, Trumpet, and Trombone.
I can hear the downward transitional notes working properly in other sounds such as the Flutes, Oboes, and English Horns, so not all sounds are doing this.
Yikes!

This might be easily fixed by changing the group start option key switch if it's visible in group start options,
but it might be scripted. I haven't looked at it yet.
Can you give me one specific instrument name with a folder path like in this example?
..\Diamond\_TVEC_4_Diamond_Instruments\06_T4_french_horn_instruments\a Diamond French Horns 6,4,2,1 Players.nki
or verify that this is one of the problematic instruments and I'll see what I can find later today.
Also,
If you discover a repair for this, or also the downward IntervaLive with the brass please let us all know how to fix.
Thank you,
Steve Karl

The trills are governed by the key signature selected.tdm wrote:Hello,

I cannot find this happening here. Exactly which instruments (one of them, please) is giving you this problem?tdm wrote:I’ve found another issue concerning IntervaLive. I will reply with specific instrument names tonight when I get home from work.
As concerns the half / whole trills: Is there a way to avoid setting a specific key signature? I tend towards music that doesn't fit nicely into a specific key. With the ability to choose half and whole note trills with key switches, I'm surprised it was set up this way. They sound great, by the way.
Thanks to both of you for the speedy reply.

Yes, once you go to choose your key signature, simply click the KeySig button off, and you then can choose trills as you like.tdm wrote:I will reply with specific instrument names tonight when I get home from work.

Any of the following instruments exhibit this problem. There are more, but these should allow you to track the problem down.
01_FHorn_k.nki (in folders 69_Solo_French_Horn_a / Solo_French_Horn_A_Instruments)
01_Trumpet_k.nki (in folders 71_Solo_Trumpet_a / Solo_Trumpet_A_Instruments)
01_Trombone_k.nki (in folders 73_Solo_trombone_a / Solo_Trombone_A_Instruments)
00_Tuba_k.nki (in folders 75_Solo_Tuba / Solo_Tuba_Instruments)
As I am seeing this problem and you may not be, reply if you need more info. Unlike the trill problem, I couldn’t tell from looking at them which Groups were responsible for the hanging notes. You will have to tell me what to look for. I am on the east coast and hit the sack around 10:30 (what can I say; I’m old), so get back to me before then. Happy hunting, and thanks.

Found one!
In the 00_Tuba_k.nki, the Group for the pitch wheel down IntervaLive samples is called LAUNCH dn pw. With the pitch wheel down, and playing and releasing a note, one of these samples will trigger on the note release (as it should) and will continues to play till its end. Moving the pitch wheel between center and all the way down simply gates the already playing sample on and off. If you play multiple notes with the pitch bend wheel down, you have many notes sustaining all doing what I just described.

I compared one of the solo instruments that works properly with one that doesn't. The one that works properly has three envelope generators assigned to the amplifier; one of them set to a very short rise and fall with no sustain. The instrument that doesn't work only has two envelope generators assigned to the amplifier. One of them has the hold time set to zero, but if I change it to an AHD envelope, and adjust the A, H, and D times, it fixes the problem.
I have no idea what was intended in the original programming, so take all of this with a grain of salt, but I think there is a clue here.

Actually, I find that there is no real error. However, the default settings for "SlideDn" and "LaunchDn" are set a bit low for them to be heard. Once you get the levels right, you have to make sure that you release the pitch wheel once you hit the "target" note.

Unless I'm misunderstanding your reply, this is not a matter of them not being heard; they simply don't work properly. They hang in a sustained, very audible, state until the samples run out, as long the pitch wheel is held down.
To be clear, I trigger the notes with the pitch wheel down, release the notes, and they hang, playing the sustained samples, as long as the pitch wheel is down. When the pitch wheel is returned to center, they are still playing and can be heard if the pitch wheel is again bent down without additional notes being played. This continues until the samples hit their ends and stop.

I am unable to produce the result you are getting in the indicated files. What version of Kontakt are you running?
