I don't think so myself. To me that reads "I don't (gap) I'm afraid" This saying has no gap in it.

We use * I'm afraid* when we are giving a response which is unhelpful but the reason is outside our control. It means something like "I would help you if I could, but I can't"

Probably should of had a comma after afraid.

Maybe "I am afraid I don't" would of been a better way to phrase it.

I think you'd say: I'm afraid I don't - then the comma.
