Michael Cretu was the first one to mix Gregorian chants (from a CD of the UNO about threatened folks) with dance music (Sadeness Part I), then others followed a similar path, for example the project "Gregorian"...Axis1~SL61 wrote:Well, back in the '90s, if I remember well, there was already that Gregorian Chant sort of trance adaptation or something like that...Numanoid wrote:A positive thread about dance music........
I was just thinking the other day about a niche in trance that hasn't been exploited yet:
Christian Trance
Yup, set some uplifting trance beat to good ol' hymns to bring them up to date

I don't listen to music with religious labels anymore...Numanoid wrote:Wow, according to the world cup thread you listen to anythingTricky-Loops wrote:I don't listen to Christian rock...
Once I had a (fundamental) Christian (school) colleague (which was member of the Mennonites) who told me that there were dangerous backward masking in KISS songs and all people who listen to it will receive secret messages by the devil. He even gave me a Christian book which tried to explain how dangerous it is to listen to rock music because there were messages of the devil everywhere...and some people had even committed suicide because of listening to this rock music...
Then he gave me cassettes with Christian hip hop music from P.I.D....
We soon parted because I cannot stand this missionary eagerness!

Also, the video for 2014 was clearly a mistake, it should have been filed under 80's.Numanoid wrote:Based on your selection we seem to have been on the same road in the 70's and 80's, but come the 90's we took off in complete different directions.Redmerkurii wrote:Goodies through the decades

Classic, I have a thing for remixes of classic disco hits like these. Especially tracky remixes that avoid using too much of the vocal.mrblitz wrote:
