Depends on the selfie :hihi: Extra points for fully developed late 1960's film scanned in.

I remember seeing Elton John at about 2am in 1969 in the cobbled courtyard of the King's Manor in York (under a marquee, of ocurse!), he started his soundcheck (voice, piano, bass and drums) at about midnight...
I actually heard Elton John Dissing lip syncing a while back - apparently he still sings legit! Awesome for him :)

THAT I would have liked to see... Not much for a lot of 'classic rock' era stuff, but I do love some Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin :)
Yes, 'twas pretty good. They were supported by Love Sculpture who were also great. Saw ELP in the same dining room later in the year ... knives in the Hammond keyboard and all! In those days you often got to see 3 or 4 BIG names on the same bill. Mind you, I did pay 50p to see the 2nd Wings concert! Got to meet Paul et al. Last couple of gigs have been to see Bowie at Old Trafford and the Manchester Arena. Both times he was good - also had Suede on the bill at the Cricket Ground.

But, I always did enjoy being behind the desk though when I could. Quite a responsibility when the kit was not exactly stable and home made/botched and you had to be on the faders constantly, but I lent my ears to the party to be able to get the best sound for the various bands I was with.

Oh well, back to this synth. Have a nice solo done, which really fits the time and genres around when the ARP was at its height. Just got to work up some basic perc - and then lots of volume automation will be required to get the right overall feel. So a lot to do still ...

Did you know it guys? http://www.kvraudio.com/news/korg-annou ... izer-25037
I just come upon this news from February: recreated Odyssey hardware is supposed to be issued this September. This synth really rocks  as I gave some tweaks to ODsay vst which sounds amazing!

Yes,it was announced six months ago...
:D
And the project is with the ancient technical boss of ARP.

Yep, posted a link about it on page 3, will be interesting at what price range they put it at.

I'm curious what the price point will be, considering that an original Odyssey goes for around 3 grand USD on e-bay ... not like I'll be able to afford one anyhow LOL

I skimmed through the posts, but too fast it seems. I found somewhere that it will probably be 'collector-style price rather than mass-market".

If there's a chance for Odyssey mini, then who knows... just dreaming. But let's now focus on ODsay gem. :hihi:

A great kick starter / indiegogo campaign would be ODsay inside a sexy / sleek oak finish box with beautiful knobs and keys - and some kind of quick boot stripped down windows inside. :o

It should be possible... and then you've essentially built a DIY "plug-out" system...

I'm curious how it will sound.
The Arps were legendary for their 'stability' - for the time. But 40 years of component development take their toll: will this sound like an Ody - or like Arp always wanted the Ody to sound?
Are they using vintage parts (like, say, Ken MacBeth) or new stuff (like Doepfer)?
Was briefly quite excited by the Synthi clone - the Hornet http://hornet-modular.de/ - but even from the somewhat uninspired MP3 demos, no-one would mistake it for 'vintage'. And under 5 grand (euros) looked almost do-able ...
I like the ODsay ... I might even consider shelling out for the Manx clone, if it's reasonably priced (a 'moog' model to go with the Elektro and Roberson whitefaces) ... but I actually surprised myself by just how unmoved I was by the Korg announcement.

We can add that they don't do a lot of hype for it during that development stage. We are at the diametrically opposite of, say, an italian company that I forgot the name...
Korg seems to prepare the thing in total silence... and will probably create a true surprise (at the awe or at the deception) in its features (and accuracy) when the product is outed.

And Krzywicki is probably just the guy to do it.
Not been in touch for a very long time - technological meltdown on my part, then his taking himself out of circulation again - but the kind of projects he was hinting at even then made my head spin.
And maybe if SE were up to speed, we'd have seen a 64-bit ODsay by now - perhaps even with the non-linear envelopes he developed for the Mini ...
But we'll only ever see a fraction of the instruments he works on - a bit of a perfectionist, this guy, and there aren't the hours in the day; especially when it's not putting food on his table.
Remember, ODsay was initially intended as payware - the whole Analog Pack was - at an eye watering ... 5 euros apiece!
And it's doubtful the (intermittent) Donate button brought in much.
If we could come up with the readies, we might be able to tempt him - he certainly has the technical skills to make it happen.

You just made me realize SE could conquer the world if it was 64Bit mac + pc, but ALSO with Android / iOS libraries... the entire world would have the joy of synthesis.
