Camel Audio were already registered for VAT in the UK as they will have had a turnover of over £81k.

Registering for VATMOSS would have made their EU VAT admin manageable.

Camel Audio were not akin to a small sound designer or plugin developer who sells a few dozen sound sets or plugins a year, and for whom the new regulations are way too onerous.
I agree with that, can't be the VAT issue here, more wild speculation won't help us though.
What about tame speculation? They couldn't handle the new KVR forum colours anymore and decided to stop operating in an act of tame, mild-mannered aesthetic protest?

I think Alchemy was the first or second softsynth I bought, and the first one I "fell in love with." I suppose it will always be something kind of special in my memory.

How do you know piracy was no longer an option when the leeches share every form of "soft" property as if it didn't take someone years of work to put together. There's a soulless, disgusting rot in our society, a lack of respect that goes beyond evolution or economics.
You obviously have no clue what you are talking about. I really doubt it had anything to do with piracy as to my best knowledge Camel Audio products have not been cracked for years. Blaming piracy looks like it might be a good explanation only to self-righteous simple minded moralist. Their products not being cracked and they being a popular high-profile company with a lot of fans would indicate otherwise. Of course, we can not be totally sure what is going on but I doubt piracy had a anything to do with such a unforeseen closing.

If it was a company buyout then would there be a need to make a backup of everything. Wouldn't it be available in the other companies site?

95% of everything typed is speculation. Be a dull world without it and this entire forum would be spread over 15 'pages'.
I'm tired of being insane. I'm going outsane for some fresh air.

Yeah, now for the next weeks it'll be all about IF after years of WHEN.

They either got bought out or are moving to another country to do business. They are too loved to just close shop. I bet they got offered a nice sum of money. Hopefully. I love Camel Audio!

don't leave us!! :(

Could be that tax laws reduced the profit margins to be too narrow, compared to applying
their skills elsewhere. Doctors in the U.S. are retiring/changing fields,
and med students changing majors, because of government ruining greatness.
If it can happen to MD's it can happen to coders.

I just made a polite post over in the Camel Audio section, asking what happened and what will happen if we wish to reinstall on a new PC/Mac at some future stage..will the software be activated or be redundant after the July date. Within minutes that post seems to have been deleted. I've looked and my post isn't showing anywhere..I even used the "Display Post" feature at the bottom of the page to search for it based on the time of post and it's not there.

It seems certain questions are not allowed to be asked..or, at the very least, aren't going to be answered.

Shame..I honeslty thought they had more integrity than that!

Perhaps someone hacked into their site and wrote that fateful message.
Tomorrow we will awaken from this bad dream and the sun will shine and
Alchemy Version 2 will be announced.

Or

Some Phat Alchemist had predicted that a Camel will expire prior to the cataclysmic end of the world. So prepare yourself for the finale.

BS. medical bills are way too much in the US. In japan its 1/4 of the cost. Seriously they charge 2000 dollars just to sit in a room and be observed after somone had a seizure. They applied no treatment or prescriptions. It seems the worse what happens they feel they can get away with charging all the more :ud: Infuriating. Some countries medical costs are FREE..

Windows is one of the most (if not the most) pirated software - have you seen Microsoft going under because of that?

You don't seem to understand a very simple thing: the percentage of ppl using cracked software for evaluation purposes is extremely, extremely, small. The vast majority has NO INTENTION TO BUY THAT SOFTWARE - EVER; they are not "potential clients", they're "never gonna happen clients".

Yeah, detailing this sad thread is the only clever option I guess.
