This plugin is just too special to pass on, after 5 minutes into the demo the sound quality totally convinced me and I don't understand all the lamenting over the GUI, takes a little time to grasp but then it's no rocket science. Made a bunch of presets within the first 15 minutes or so, happy customer here!

Good to see your hooked :tu:

Now go get busy and take my money :D

I have no idea why Michael wont offer 'hard drive based' iLok authorisation for EA plugins. I probably won't buy Excalibur and rather will sell my verbs sooner or later due to this fact. It's simply to much of a risk for me, suffering damage or having an iLok stolen… even though i bought the ZDT, i think it's all a bit of a trap, and I don't want to support this method anymore. I think if people choose to stop using it, they'll have to change their thinking. Not everyone has a permanent studio you know, I'm on the road all the friggon time, and I simply cant be plugging and unplugging this fecking dongle whenever I get an idea. Not so trigger the next iLok whinefest, but hey, i'm a customer, and I need to keep letting devs know how I feel, or I know I'm gonna suffer for choosing to support them.

Michael, can you please just explain to everyone why you refuse to support this hard-drive based iLok authorisation method? I'm sure you'd sell a whole lot more If you did!

Well, let me know when you might be selling. Perhaps, we can work something out :)

But that's what you're doing, no?

Personally I have no problem with ilok, I have 2x ilok 1 dongles (East west composer, Arturia, air instruments) and an Elicencer dongle (cubase, wavelab) what I object to is having to pay 50 bucks to upgrade my hardware dongle to an identical dongle that adds absolutely nothing to me.

I guess if all the new software comes out only supporting V2 ilok hardware no v1 ilok hardware I will have to eventually...if excalibur had supported v1 iloc hardware I would have bought it (spur of the moment download!) but as I have to buy new hardware to try it/use it. I passed.

Having to upgrade your dongle hardware periodicaly is another reason not to start with dongle protected software in the first place, I am unhappy that my iloc 1 is no longer being supported.

But iLok 1 has been cracked, it's of not much use anymore as a copy protection method as far as I understood the matter.

Yep ilok1 is past it' sale by date.

Of course you couldremove the sword from the rock and be a king with the slate offer for April...

and open your world upto Excalibur, Soundtoys and many other outstanding plugins...should you so decide :)

Well that was annoying - have been trying to buy for the last week or so but kept getting either a coming soon message or an error message - take my money already hahah!!

ilok2-only is supposed to be the most secure form of Pace copy protection.

While Exponential doesn't come off as at all elitist to me, it does extend more deeply into the pro studio/post facility market than most.

I mean, who else is (or will be?) Atmos-ready at no additional charge.

A few developers offer multiple ilok activations... EA doesn't.

Personally, I'd like two ilok2 activations, with the second as a backup... but, this is also kind of two "seats" for the price of one, when it comes to multiple stations/users.

Like it or not, this is the pro way to do plug-ins... and has been mentioned, the support is literally second to none.

If you can't hang with ilok, there are other options.

While I respect boycotting and lobbying against things you don't like, I doubt those will do much here, though people should voice their opinions and vote with their money.

I still have a lot of software 'protected' by iLok 1 (which was touted as 'uncrackable') including software I just bought last week from Eventide, the vast majority of software is still on iLok 1. You can be assured iLok2 will be cracked sometime if it isn't already -will I have to buy an iLok 3 then!.

If dongle manufacturers get their dongles hacked they should offer replacements for free- its a double slap in the face for people who actually buy software- I bought iLok and eLiceners so I could buy and use 'high end' software, I shouldn't be penalised or made to upgrade because their protection systems didn't work.

I didn't mean to get on to an iLok rant, as I said, I own 2! As I cant even demo Excalibur without buying my 3rd iLok, its a bit of a leap of faith- I know other companies are using ilok 2 only (not many) but I don't want that software, so I would literally be buying Excalibur un-demoed + a $50 dongle. I was so sad I couldn't try it I bought UberMod and Frostbite  ....both after demoing :tu:

Well, another iLocked product thread, we have so many of those around, the last thread that got iLocked badly was the Zynaptiq Morph thread, now this one...maybe we need some more Excalibur videos as a balance.

It's the 2nd law of KvRdynamics, all threads degenerate to a state of iLokery!

Great great plug in - Bought it last week. :)

I have an iLok. So I'm very happy when companies decide to use it. Thanks Exponential audio and Slate!
I will take the Lord's name in vain, whenever I want. Hail Satan! And his little goblins too.

I own Phoenix and R2, and I'll buy Excalibur.

I'm happy Michael uses iLok so he can focus on coding great reverbs and effects rather than waste time creating some crappy copy protection system that will only get cracked. iLok not only keeps Michael focused on his job, it makes sure he gets paid for his work, which he deserves.

This is not a thread to bitch about iLok, it's a thread about Exponential Audio Excalibur.
