haha thats typical cakewalk :hihi:

not even a demo version to try.

those audio demos are really bad sounding, only like the reverse piano and the dream sine piano.

I wouldn't call it typical, when they released z3ta+ v2 owners of v1 could upgrade at half price

but they offered no demo to try it out, i got told on the facebook page i just should upgrade and check.
found that not really helpful.

but i dont know cakewalk is now part of roland and i dont like the route they are taking.

there are lots of devs doing 50%off or lower when releasing a new major version. they maybe felt guilty for only reguing it adding only a browser, but nothing else.

I've got all 3.

Interestingly, Z2 doesn't give me nearly as much satisfaction as Z1. I find this odd since my only gripe with Z1 is the browser, which they improved in Z2.

Dim Pro has a killer bass selection. The real basses are great sounding and, to my ear, stand up against some other very expensive bass module instruments. However, for some reason, it doesn't play nice with Cubase Pro 8. Not sure why, but I can't get the GUI to appear. So...worthless.

Rapture is nice, but I've got better synths and ROMplers out the wazzoo right now. And currently waiting for the O2 update.

That said, a combo Dim Pro/Rapture is tempting, but I think I'll wait for a sale.

They used to be part of Roland, but are now under Gibson I think

Maybe it was better when they were with Roland?

Well, i don't know of any other product which offers a discount for owning 3 products of the same company. I rather see this as bad marketing form Cakewalk's side. They rather should have made this "$50 if you own a Cakewalk product". $50 off for owners of Rapture or DImension pro suggests that you're obliged to a larger discount if you own both.

Except maybe Fabfilter, PSP, or Cableguys, off the top of my head...
In rotation here: Helios- Eingya

I own Dim Pro and Rapture and I think there is a lot of mileage in them still.

I have bought some add ons from DSF too, so I guess there must be well over 5000 patches now, so will last a while longer 8)

Huh? Don't see where you get a discount at all for Cableguys plugin... do you mean the bundle?

Post

Owners of z3ta+ v1 got $50 off upgrading to v2

While owners of z3ta v2 + Dim Pro + Rapture get $20 off.

So the moral seems to be that your wallet actually get punished the more Cakewalk plugs you own

I don't find the upgrade price to big.
Omnisphere 2 price on the other hand is insane.

why? you have so many choice and really good sounds, not to mention the upgrade is free when you bought omni 1 after sept 2014.

What is Alesis Andromeda doing in the Rapture Pro GUI?

What is the link between Alesis and Cakewalk, they are not under the same umbrella are they?

Probably used for samples in the patch.
