well, you sell Kaleidoscope content ... so you're not exactly impartial.

Thank's for that important and valuable remark.

it wasn't for your benefit, but you're welcome nonetheless.

I recently learned that we are all eukaryotes (like cats and horses).

Recent evidence suggests that one single-celled organism, the intestinal parasite Giardia lamblia, represents the first line of descent from the ancestral cells that took on eukaryotic features.
With that being said, it's worth noting that Obscurium represents an important evolutionary step in taking Kontakt synths to new levels.

Everything Ive heard from yourself, other users in the huge thread here and my own efforts are all pretty self similar, particularly the Timbre which dominates the resultant musical output.

It's like claiming that orange is green and cold is warm, it's simply not true and opinions are only worth something to a certain degree.

Sorry Samp, I've got to disagree with you on this one. Kaleidoscope does have a very distinct sound to it and it doesn't seem to matter what you run though it. It always just sounds like Kaleidoscope to me. I'm not saying that it's not a cool sound, but it's very recognizable. I've listened to all your demos as well as tried it out myself... though I have to admit that it wasn't very usable (at least not when using it in real time) on my i7 quad core running at 2.5 khz. The combination of a very distinctive character, high price and outrageous CPU use put me off this one. You can condescendingly denounce our opinion on this one, but frankly I feel that the opinion of someone like me who's always interested in new experimental sound design plugins and has no dog in the fight is at least as valid as the opinion of someone selling sound sets for Kaleidoscope.

Let's just agree on disagreeing, it's useless to get into a fight about a plugin, so...
