I tried the demo and love the interface. I'm a little frustrated with Mangle cause of the bugs and it seems like Tom is busy with other projects. I wish all plugins had Granite's way of assigning and recording the modulations! So straightforward and intuitive to use.Neon Breath wrote:Igor Amos wrote:Yes it does! thanks so much. I heard similar things from others so it helps to have confirmation on its general qualities!!Neon Breath wrote:Very different synths. For me it's a worflow VS sound. If you aim for a very dense, lush and prestine sound, go with Mangle, one of the best sounding granular synths at the moment imo. But if you aim for the worflow and very unique modulation possibilities, go with Granite. It definitly sounds rougher and choppier than Mangle, but its unique recordable modulation rings make it unique and very organic sounding despite its raw sound. Hope than helps a bit!Igor Amos wrote:I'm so curious what you think about Mangle versus Granite. Mangle has been really buggy for me and I'm on the fence about Granite. I love Granite's interface, especially how you can so easily modulate the knobs on-screen.Neon Breath wrote:Mangle...

(even if Granite sounds rougher and less smooth, I tend to prefer Granite for its unique modulation workflow. I get better results with it for pads, drones, textures...)
How come nobody ever talks about Absynth anymore?

absynth makes a small cameo as well.

not terribly so, just a few things like assigning pitchwheel and CC modulations aren't working perfectly.mcc> wrote:haha...ya right up there with 1.2.F.U.!liv wrote:![]()

for the price, that seems fairly-minor...yet hopefully those issues will be addressed as i do admire those companies which keep trying to improve their product as opposed to letting them gather-dust via disinterest while collecting money from others.
oh btw...what's a granular? : G

Anyway, I hope NI is going to make 50% discount this black Friday. I'm already saving for the Komplete 10 because of Absynth and other components

Decided to install Absynth again.
So I went to NI and requested the demo, which is v5.2.0
After installing it, I go into the service center and get noted that there is an update v5.3.1 available.
Do I have to download 1GB+ again, just to get update, why can't they just offer the latest version of the plug as demo
The v5.3.1 update was made available 29 October, 2015, almost a year ago.
And still they offer an older version as the demo, goes to show how big the interest is in Absynth I guess
